My mother n law said it is dangerous to reach over my head or vacuuming because I can tear my placenta. Is this true?

Obviously you shouldn't be on step stools or ladders fixing curtains. Or picking up anything heavy or moving any furniture stuff like that will cause you and baby damage. As for vacuuming, it's fine just go slow like with any other physical activity don't over do it or do it quickly you'll hurt your muscles. But there nothing wrong with reaching over your head or vacuuming.

I recently watched a programme on TV,  where a lady reached to adjust her curtains and lost her balance. She says she did not fall, but she reached forward for support and stabilised herself on a seat. A few hours later her baby, she could not feel the baby move. She only had a few weeks to delivery. She rushed to hospital and they did an ultrasound and all was well. A week later she went for a check and her doctor admitted her immediately. Long story short. ..she did tear her placenta when she was adjusting the curtains. Apparently the placenta had a small tear and she continued bleeding the whole week. The baby died and she almost died....she went into a coma. So, please be careful. ..it could happen.

Umm, no I don't think so lol. There was an old wives tale, "don't teach above your head or it will wrap the cord around the babys neck", but to my knowledge that hasn't been proven. Plus that's how i slept through my whole first pregnancy and the cord was not around my child's neck lol
