Yes, the egg is only "viable", or able to be fertilized, within a 24 hour window. That's why it's important to BD before ovulation, during ovulation, and after ovulation for your chances of conceiving to increase.
So you only have a 24 hour period to get pregnant each cycle. A man's sperm can live up to 5-7 days in the vagina, provided that you have cervical mucous. It helps keep the sperm alive and helps sperm live longer. I don't know what they mean by "2-3 days after ejaculation" because it can take sperm a matter of hours to reach the egg and fertilize it, not days.
yep, you got it right....HOWEVER, sperm can ctually survive in the area for up to *7* days, given a "perfect" enviroment.....
most of the ladies here, if i am correct, start BD'ing, 2-3 days before ovulation, and for 2-3 days after....
you can use the site
mymonthlycycles . com
to track your periods, and it even gives you a "forecast" of expected periods, and shows what days you ovulate and your "prime" ovulation day.....
good luck, hope to see you with a BFP!!! sending baby dust to you!!!
