How many weeks??? Confused???

Hi ladies,

ok so I I got a bfp...woohooo! Now for the past couple of days I have been wondering how far along I am. According to all the calculators I am due March 17th. My last AF was June 10th. So today (the date my last period was due) I am either 5wks or 6wks??? Ahh I can't figure this out. I think I am starting my 6th week today, but am not sure.

Anyone good at how these calculations work?

right, but not all women hear the heart beat at 6wks but I've heard that's normal. Good Luck & here's to a healthy nine mths.

Thanks ladies. :) So it sounds like I am 5weeks 1 day today...yipeeee!! Only 34 weeks and 6 days to go...I guess. :)

I did indeed make an appointment. We go in August 7th for our first check-up. Ah..more waiting...

I am bringing DH with me to that appointment because I think it is where you get the u/s and hear a heart beat...right?

Sound right to me. If your last period was June 10, 2008 then your due date is March 17.
So if you count the weeks between June 10 and March 17 it will equal 40 weeks. Note June 10 doesn't count as 1 week. June 17 = 1 week from you last period. So:
June 17= 1 week
June 24= 2 weeks
July 1= 3 weeks
July 8= 4 weeks
July 15= 5 weeks

And so on and so on you can even write the number of weeks you are on a calender.

It kind of hard at times to know exactly, were you are at until your ultrasound, bc sometimes you may not be that far along, unless you know you ov around the time of AF. Most women ov right after or within 14 days after AF. ( I think I said that right) but ur ultrasound will let you know for sure. Have you made your appointment yet?

You have completed your 5th week.  Tomorrow, you would be considered 5w1d, then 5w2d and so on, until you get to next Tuesday, where you would be 6w0d.  The "week" part is noted after you have finished that particular week, then you add the days.  Hope that makes sense.
