please help !... need info about Metronidazole

So today I was told I had a bacterial infection, the Dr. Gave me metronidazole to insert in me at night for five nights, I've been reading online questions and answers about using it and it says it can cause birth defects and miscarriage in the fisrt trimester but on Saturday I will 13 weeks and in my second trimester so is it safe to use or am I at risk for a miscarriage and birth detects? My ob prescribed it to me and didn't mention any of the risks..

go talk with a pharmacist they should be able to tell you. I would think the dr knows your pregnant and i think having bacteria would be worse for the baby .

If you ob prescribed it to you, then I'm sure your fine. Your doctor knows that the benefits will outweigh the risks. Bacterial infections can also cause harm to the baby, so I would do what your doc told you to do.
