Approximate age of pregnancy?

My niece says she's pregnant. She said that she had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago that didn't show anything, but on Wednesday there was a sac. She said that the sac measured 6.6mm but she couldn't tell me how far along she was. She says that the doctors don't know either.

Now, from my understanding, ultrasounds can tell you the approximate age of a pregnancy by measuring the gestational sac. She says they couldn't tell and there wasn't a baby. They measured my gestational sac with this pregnancy before they saw a baby and told me I was measuring right on.

So, I have two questions:

1. Does anyone know what the approximate age of a pregnancy would be when the sac measures 6.6mm?
2. Is it just me, or does it sound as if she is lying?

yeah it does sounds a lil fishy.
my sister is a compulsive liar too.
And it urks me really bad when she comes up and tells me she's pregnant, and then she gets her period a week later.

I'm like wtf?!

Then she tells me she miscarried.

After the 3rd time around in the corse of like 4 months I'm just like, "Darcee, whatever. I know you're not pregnant. No one gets pregnant over and over and over again and miscarries every single time within a few months. Just cuz you're having sex, doesn't mean you're pregnant. You ain't miscarrying, you're getting you're f*cking period. Use a f*cking condom- you're only 13."

And she'd be like, "Yes hah! Blah blah blah I tested a week ago! I should be like 2 er 3 weeks pregnant."

Yeah.
Bullsh*t.

This went on from about 13 years old up until she was almost 15.
She's gunna be 16 on Nov. 3rd.

It annoys me cuz when I ended up pregnant she was like, "Yeah whatever."
Till mom brought her with us to the ultrasound and she seen the baby for herself.

Yeah.
Who feels like a f*cking tard now???

LOL

At 7.5 weeks I was able to see a sack, with a baby & heartbeat in it.
I seriously doubt it dude.

I'd say about 5-6weeks pregnant. Sometimes tho they won't see a heartbeat til around 7-8weeks. Every woman is different, but the majority get to see it by 6 weeks.

She just sent me a message. She said she should be 8 weeks. Does 6.6mm sound normal for 8 weeks?

I know that she might be, which is why I don't want to uneccesarily accuse her of anything. She is, however, a known liar in the family, so I just want to be cautious.

hse might be telling the truth.  With my pregnancy I had an ultrasound at 4 weeks and a few days and they saw nothing, then a week later I had another ultrasound and the tech said he saw a sac, but it was empty, I asked him if he could measure the sac and see if it fits with where I am at my pregnancy, he said he tried but that it was too small to get an accurate date on it.  then a week after that there was a baby with a heartbeat and I am almost 25 weeks now...so she MIGHT be telling the truth, good luck!

It does to me too. She's been with her current boyfriend only since March and in April started asking me all these questions about how to get pregnant and when her next period will be if she has such and such cycle, and when she ovulates, when she should have sex, etc.

She told me last month she was pregnant too and then she got her period the next day, and blah blah.

I just want to make sure.

If shes around 6.6mm shes around 5 weeks pregnant but then everyone tends to measure differently in a way, i was a bit bigger than my mate when i was 7 weeks than what she was.

I have no clue. I would think that she would know how far along she would be from her LMP, but I am not sure. She could be 6-9 weeks. But the Drs should tell her how far along she is.... to me it sounds fishy!
