OPK's? and Folic Acid

Hey Ladies,

Can someone please help me out,

First question, I purchesed some over the counter Folic Acid, Its 800mg. Every place I read, they said it helps to concieve. So is this to much to take>

Also I am going to try OPK;s this month. I am wanting to take them starting CD10. But my question is, I have taken them befor and alway get a light pink line. So is it when they are very dark pink to take consider that it my O day. I dont know how to read them .

When you get a dark line on an ovulation test,then ovulation is due with 72 hours.or can be on that day,some women have positive for 2 days then ovulate.you can also try taking the tests mid afternoon,after holding wee for 4 hours.some women dont have enough hormone in the am.folic acid will not help you concieve but it provide the right nutriens needed to support a pregnancy.over the counter ones are fine.you may want to consider charting also.ovulation tests are good,but they dont confirm you have ovulated only that your about to.check out peeonastick.com provides more info on ovulation.

the OPK"s both the test line has to be as dark or darker then the control for it to be +! If it is lighter then it is NOT +! Just keep taking them and make sure you do not take it with first morning urine

It takes 4 hours to reach your urine each day. You need to not drink to much for two hours before you take it, sometimes you can have a fast surge and have to taek it at night too. I was told as I get up at 6:00 to take it at 10:00am (must be taken the same times each day!) and around 8:00 if I wanted to maek sure.

thankyou nicki, I am just not sure what to do. I am almost 29 I would really like to get my last kid befor 30. But I figure some folic acid, and an OPK kit would be better.,

Could you recommend an OPK for me.

It depends on which one's you are using... if they are the ones with two lines then yes, it has to be as dark as the control line or darker. Folic acid is wonderful to take and most doctor's recommend 500-1000 mg. Mine are 1000 and my doc said that they were fine. I really hope that you get your sticky bean soon!
