Just got back from the hospital....

As many of you know, I've had a fever and some pretty bad cramping these past few days. Finally, I went to the hospital today. After 7 1/2 long hours - an hour of trying to get blood drawn and an IV stuck in me, 4 holes, 3 ultrasounds and 2 urinalysis later, They told us that I have a bladder infection and that our baby is perfectly healthy and has a nice, strong heartbeat of 162. I was given some antibiotics and told not to have sex, to get plenty of rest and drink as much as possible.

I just figured I'd let you all know. Thanks for all your help and support.

WHOA!!! RED FLAG! Maybe....

The OB who treated me last night just called my house. She wants me to go and get my first RhoGAM shot tomorrow. I'm only 13 weeks. Should I be worried that she wants me to get it so early, or is it just a precaution since I have an infection???

Thanks everyone. I'm sure you all know what kind of weights that lifted off my shoulders. I can't wait until I start feeling him/her - I will feel so much better about "knowing." Just like Ms.GA, I feel like I got hit by a truck. I forgot to mention it in my first post because I was so damn tired but I was dehydrated, too so they had one hell of a time trying to find a vein to get blood from and get an IV into. I have 2 holes in 1 arm, one that is sooo so sore in the other that bruised immediately, then 1 in each hand.

I finally got some sleep last night....and had a really weird dream about giant police spiders that were after me because I stole my dead mother's pearl necklace to sell so I could make sure a sick friend of mine that was extremely ill got the care that he needed. *shudders* Their fangs were huge. LOL!!

I'm sorry to hear that you have a bladder infection, but EXTEMELY happy to hear that baby is doing good!! Congrats, and take care of yourself!!

i just went through the exact same thing yesterday

i was at the hospital forever and was so worried...i was relieved to hear it was a bladder infection

i got to see my baby and hear the heartbeat for the first time so in a way it relieved a lot of my anxiety
