Kisses of the mouth?

When I was little I would kiss my father in the mouth, until I was about 4. I never did with my mom and now that im older it bothers the hell out of me. My bf kisses his niece on the mouth and I find it gross because she kisses everyone else there also. When my son gets here im not gonna let anyone kiss him in the mouth nit even myself. I feel like a kiss in the mouth is something intimate a couple can do. Am I wrong?

I totally understand how you feel and if you're uncomfortable with it then don't let ppl do it.  My family doesn't do that...i wasn't raised that way and it would make me uncomfortable but everyone see things differently...

I never said it was gross when my father would give me kisses never. I said now that im older it bothers me and idk why. you need to re-read what I said.

Your post made it pretty clear you meant yourself also. Talking about how you think it's gross your dad kissed you as a kid. And saying "im not gonna let my son kiss anyone, not even myself. I believe it's a thing an intimate couple do". French kissing? Yes. A little peck to your child is not gross unless you think of it in that way.

I never meant kissing my own child as being weird or gross. And I just dont think I could let anyone else but my bf and I kiss him in the lips. I find it weird if someone else did. I never kissed an aunt or uncle or grandparent. I wasnt raised like that

Honestly a mother making it weird is weird in itself. There's absolutely nothing sexual or gross or weird about kissing your child on the lips while they're young, until they are no longer comfortable with doing so. Same with mothers who somehow think breastfeeding is weird or gross...I guess people have their opinions, but I think it's only weird if you make it that way. No one is going to think of you kissing your baby or toddler as "gross".

But girls and their daddies reach that age before girls and their mommies. I still occasionally kiss my mom on the lips and im 15. But its only if I wont see ger for awhile or if its for a big thing like I got an award or did good at a performance. We think nothing of it.
But with my dad I stopped around 10. And my mom with my brother stopped around 15-16 (he is mentally disabled and was like a kid far longer than most)
But for my other brother she stopped at like 10 or 11.
But my ex kisses his mom on the lips and he is 15, ans another ex of mine was 17 last time I seen him kiss his mom on the lips. THAT grossed me out.
But babies are innocent and I dont think ill be able to stop kissing my sons face and little hands and little feet and fat cheeks

Its only intimate if you make it that way I give my niece and nephew kisses on the mouth every now and then and I will not stop my mom and family from giving my baby kisses to each its own though

Omg my dad is 63 and he still tries to kiss me on the mouth . Sometimes I check it other times he gets it .. ahhhh ! But I kiss my baby girl on the mouth . And shed.be the only one .
Sometimes she wants lots of kisses though so ill turn my cheek and let her.kiss my cheek all she wants .

I'm not going to let my daughter kiss anyone in the mouth because my husband's sister in law lets her 1yr old son kiss her in the mouth but she likes to stick the very tip of her tongue in his mouth & my husband & I find it disturbing. I know it's up to the parents to decide how they raise their child but the tongue part is just too much even if it's just the tip of her tongue.

I kiss my three year old son and two year old daughter in the mouth, cheeks, forehead, head! And all their boos boos. Lol I dont see anything wrong with it. Once they get older ill stop though.

I think it's a personal decision.... i find absolutely no harm in it...it's not awkward unless u make that way...it's your own child...you're really never gonna give your baby/child kisses on his mouth????

I don't thinks it's weird or wrong at all. Obviously there's a line and it's weird after a certain age but it's not like you re making out with your child it's a sign of affection

I think since babies & kids so innocence. There's nothing wrong with lil kisses on the lips to their parents. But once that innocents is gone, & they realize, Kissing on the lips means something different now. Lol It's a whole different ball game. (:

I will kiss my son in the mouth, forehead,hands,etc.. I don't see anything wrong with that but that is just me:)

Yea I have a 6 yr old boy he still gives me kisses in the mouth. My daughter is 7 but I dont kiss her in the mouth neither does her father and she knows better (so does my son) not to kiss anyone in the mouth either. I think once they get to "that age" its not cute anymore.  Lol

Lol, my step dad family is like that, he is 51 years old. And still kisses his mom on the mouth. They tried doing that to my mom. & she was Hell no! Lol It's cute for kids, but not when their grown up.

I kissed my mom on the lips when I was little,i do with my niece(whos more like a daughter to me and SO) and always have with my daughter. My SO kisses them both like that. There is nothing intimate about it unless you make it that way. As for germs, once one of the little girls get sick every one in the house is sick no matter what. Kids get sick, it happens.

Girl I feel you. My niece is the same way. And it does grosses me out because she gives kisses on the mouth to everyone in the house. She gives kisses to me but in the cheeks . It's different when the baby gives kisses in the mouth to momma and dad only. But to everyone else it's kinda gross.

My so is 5 I still give him kisses on the lips. I have been since he was a baby nobody does it but me. Its not intimate. I use to give my dad kisses when I was little and my mom.
