do i get another u/s?

My first was at 7 1/2 weeks. We found out the gender at my 18 week scan. I'm almost 29 weeks and people have been telling me that if I want another ultrasound I have to pay for one. I thought they give one in late pregnancy to determine the position?

I think it depends on where u go. Just ask at ur next appt. My office does a 30 wk growth scan but if they don't u can pay for one.

Not usually unless they are concerned about something.

Every place is different. Some doctors do only one!
Mine provides four the confirm pregnancy/due date one then the gender/growth one then two more to monitor growth and such.

My Dr doesn't do the late pregnancy scan! I was mad. My last Dr did.  I'm 36weeks, and last us was at 18 weeks! I Think they should have to do it at the end

Im 38 weeks and I only got two - one to confirm and the anatomy scan. The doctors can tell the position of baby just by feeling. I was pretty disappointed myself.

My doc sent me for four (9w-12w-17w-22wk anatomy) and I have one left at 32wk. But I also had slight complications in the beginning so that may be why.

I read on another post about getting an ultrasound done at a college or university. I guess they'll do it for free so the students can learn. Maybe try calling your local campuses to see if they offer something like that.

I got one at 16 weeks and one at 28 weeks, those were supposed to be the only two but we have one scheduled for week 34 bc there is an issue with baby's kidneys :( I think every doctor is different though. With my niece, she got 3 and a 3d that she didn't have to pay for

They only do a certain amount unless your like me and have to have one done every two weeks. I have an incompetent cervix so they have to stay on top of it but I'm glad I get to watch my baby grow through the whole thing but I also wish I wasn't having all of these complications.

My first scan was at 14 weeks, then 18, then 22 and then another one due on 29th may which will be 29. Then there every 2weeks. My mum only got two scans when carrying me' so I'd say everything's different. I kind of go on a monthly basis, like hospitial and midwife every month.. My pregnancy is completely normal with no complications. I've also received a memory book of scan photos which I'm extremely lucky because my auntie is also pregnant and has only been given 1 photo per ultrasound. As I've been given about 6/7 each time.

My insurance only covers 3 ultrsounds unless there are complications. So I got one at 12 and 18 weeks and I will get another one at 36weeks. With my first we were only covered for 2 and got those at 6 and 20 weeks.
