Waiting impatiently to get my first af after m/c

Hi all,

I am not exactly posting a questions. Just feel like rambling. I had d&c on 21 May and I am still waiting for my period now. I am beginning to get very impatient. I have been getting a lot of stomach cramps these few days, slightly sore breast and lower back pain. I just hope these are all PMS and I will get my af SOON. I can't wait to ttc again. It is just so frustrating.

Yes, indeed it was a relief to have my first af. Now I just have to wait patiently for my second one before we start ttc.

Gracie - Glad to hear you are back to normal. At least you know what your body is doing and when you can ttc again!

its always a relief to get your af bek wen it goes away.i had my first normal af in april after removing bc.i had bc for 10months and was relieved when she showed up 19 days after bc removal.at least i know things r getting bek to normal.

Tell me about it. I have been waiting for her to come but din expect she will be this mean. Lol. I am gonna wait til I have my second cycle before I start ttc. Nevertheless, I am a step closer now.

Hi everyone, just a little update about myself. My first af has finally arrived and the cramp and pain is unbearable. Let's hope tomorrow will be a better day.

As for myself, I tested yesterday and it was negative. I think my hormones are still crazy, that's why af is so late. Hopefully I will get it soon.

Grace - Just learned my hcg level went from 157 to 1781 over five days. This is looking much better than last time, although I know I am not out of the woods.

I should get the results of my blood test this afternoon. I am hoping the results are good. I am definitely have more symptoms this time around. I haven't slept well the last three nights due to night sickness.

Your D&C is not considered your last menstrual period so you can't use it as a basis to determine your next period. Right now you are considered irregular until your body regulates (which can take up to 6 months).

The brown discharge could mean ovulation, implantation spotting or impending AF.

After my miscarriages I swore up and down I was pregnant because I had so many symptoms. It took 8 weeks to get a period after each of my miscarriages (I've had two). And after each period after each miscarriage I got pregnant again and went on to have healthy, full term babies.

There is no need to go back to the doctor- you should expect your period 6-8 weeks post D&C. If you do not get it after 12 weeks then I'd go see the doctor.

And finally I just want to say I understand your apprehension! After you have a miscarriage you want to get pregnant again BUT there is also that fear factor that it will happen again. I'm a mess during my pregnancies until I start to feel movement. I finally told myself my last pregnancy that I can either choose to enjoy the time I've given with my pregnancy or waste my time stressing and worrying over something I can't control.

My period was suppose to be due on 21 June. Still no af today. I took the test last Friday and it came back negative. When I wiped yesterday, there was a little brown discharge. Only a very very little brown discharge. Was wondering is that a symptom of my af coming? Today was also feeling a lil dizzy and nauseous. Anyway, by the end of this week, if still no af, Im going back to the doc and see what happens then.

Well..still no af today and have gotten a negative result from the test. I will for a lil while longer and then maybe test again or go back to the doc.

Did you get your blood work results back? How is it?

am so anxious hey,been having heavy periods for the past 2 months. last month i took mefenamic acid capsules and it got better.had my period on the 23rd,i always have it on the same day as the month before but up to today i haven't had it and i feel a bit wet down there and i have lost my appetite.plz help,could i be preg?

I only tested once I was sure I was having implantation bleeding (spotting for two days that never required a pantyliner). I felt exactly how you described prior to taking the test and truely was in shock when it was positive. I guess I decided to take the test because I was so ready to move on from the miscarriage that I thought, either way, I have a better idea as to what is going on with my body. Either, my hormones are still out of whack or I am pregnant. My first thought was these hormones must be left over from the previous miscarriage, but that would be unlikely as I tested negative for hcg at my follow up d&c appointment weeks ago. I should get my blood work results today, so lets hope all looks normal!

Whens you're period due??
Cause you can get tests that test 4 days before it's due to come, But then again everyone is different haha.. My friend took 6 months to get her period after her MC. Everyones body is different.. Are you getting symptoms.. Even though you cant go by those alone! You can try a test.. with First morning urine!

And if its neg then try again if your period hasnt come.
If its a faint positive, Its still a positive Woohooo. :)

I am currently already taking folic asid since the day I had my d&c and also packing up on other vits. Haha. My body is like a factory of vitamins now. I am even taking royal jelly after googling on its benefits for cenceiving.

I am currently still waiting for my period. Maybe I should start testing? But I am nervous to test now. If it's bfp, I will prolly freak and if it's bfn, I will be disappointed. Sigh. Why must everything be so difficult?

I got pregnant the same week cause I know the pill doesnt work for 21 days and my partner cant wear condoms even non latex I asked him to prove it to make sure he wasnt lying and Ive only ever slept with him and I only will ever sleep with him unless we break up, but i only plan to have one partner and not many people can say that at 17 really can they... but yeah.

Im taking everyday as it comes, I had my second midwife apt today and they listened for a heartbeat again and today its really low down the little sod. haha.. but they can feel the top of my uterus... but they thought i wasnt as far gone and then when she felt the top of my uterus she was like OH... I think its when you're 11 weeks you can start to feel the top of your uterus... haha Im not tooo sure so if someone could help me with that to see if thats true??

But yeahh,,, I think you should see your GP or seee if you can buy Folic Acid just incasee??? haha..

I completely understand what you are going through. I miscarried in early May, was given Methotrexate on May 10th due to suspected ectopic pregnancy and needed to have a d&c on May 21st because an empty sac was still growing. It was a full six weeks from when they thought I was going to miscarry (based on hcg levels) to when I had the D&C.

I just found out I am pregnant. I did not have a period after my D&C. My doctor told me to wait for one cycle and we thought we were being careful. I didn't expect to get pregnant this month, but I guess God works in mysterious ways.

I hope you become pregnant soon. I am scared to death right now and I know the first trimester is going to be difficult, so I am trying to take things one day at a time. I hope you can do the same!!

To Tasha505 and Cassandrajane, thank you for your support. I too have started taking care of my body. Im packing loads and loads of vitamins and also starts exercising. I do hope my next one will have no more complications.

Congratulations on ur pregnancy. I believe it is normal to be paranoid after all you have gone through. I was already paranoid about my first pregnancy and I know i will be paranoid beyond believe if I am to be prego again.

just because your last pregnancy ended in MC doesnt mean this one will 1 in 5 pregnancies end in an MC... after my termination I had to have in Nov' my next pregnancy (which was planned) ended in Mc, and this i have noticed has happened to alot of people... and they do tell you after your termination your next pregnancy might end in MC... but after an MC your next pregnancy should be fine... if you have 3 Mc in a row you have to be sent for an Investigation..
I was terrified. I still am, im 11 weeks if i go by my own calcuations LOL. And I had bleeding when I believed to be 8 weeks and so last week I made up I had bleeding again and they listened for a heart beat instead of sending me up the hosp and everything sounded finee.. but I am so scared from day to day, but i suffer from Paranoia which doesnt help!

If you are pregnant again they will keep a close eye on you if you want them too....

I know the feeling...  I had a mc back in November... and I had to wait till after my my first cycle to try again. I think for most people, if you have a normal pregnancy the first time (and even if you've never been pregnant before) after a miscarriage, your body is ready to house a baby!! I wish the best of luck this time around...
For me, I lost my baby at 10 weeks, I felt so impatient waiting for the my next cycle to begin.... like time was just ticking away or something. I stopped drinking alcohol, I ate healthy, and I exercised...  and then... I got pregnant after my first period. I hope it's the same for you!! Best wishes girl... take care of yourself!!

Hi. Actually we did. We had unprotected sex 2 weeks after the d&c but my hubby did not ejaculate inside (although I know pre-ejaculation has sperm too). I am also confused about this. As much as I want another baby, having one so soon after m/c will terrify me as I am afraid it will happen again. I will probably test next week if it hasn't come.

Were you afraid getting preg so soon after mc?
