No fetal pole... please some insight!

I went in for a Ultra sound today for dating/viability. My last period was December 4th but i have always been pretty irregular. Although my  last 3 periods have been 31 days. At the Ultrasound they only saw the Gestational Sac and told me to come back in 2 weeks because maybe we are off on the dates and it could be to early to tell. When i was pregnant with my son a similar situation happened. I took a pregnancy test and went in for a ultra sound only to for them to tell me there was nothing there (not even the Gest. Sac) but when i came back two weeks later everything was fine and i was 6 weeks 2 days.

Is it possible i just ovulated late....what is the likely hood that this is a viable pregnancy?

That happened to me, and I was only just 5 weeks along (I thought I was 6 weeks but I ovulated late). A week later they saw the fetal pole and a little embryo, and I even heard the heartbeat. It might just be too early.

I didnt get a positive test until i think the 7th and it was very faint! I have taken quite a few tests since and the line is as dark as it will get now! I believe i was having implantation early last week that lasted a few days but has since stopped.

It's very possible you had late ovulation or implantation. When did you get your positive test?
