Long Ride. :/

How far away is the hospital from your house? The 1 I'm going to is a little over 30 minutes away. -_- I really hate that, because I know I'm going to be in so much pain. It'll probably be longer w/ traffic lights & all, ugh. 30 minutes isn't very long when you're not in pain, but that won't be the case. There's a hospital that's right down the street, but their reputation isn't so good. Why must the ambulance be so expensive? Their job is to care for the hurt/sick.

Not yet, the hospital just relocated to a bigger facility and it just opened in April. They have to be open a couple of years to put in L&D

@ChefBlu Lucky! @christine917 Lol. Listening to music sounds like a good idea, but I might be too focused on the pain. I used to want a natural "breaking", but if they decide to induce me, that's fine lol.

Mine is the same but but we are military so I chose to go there cause its closer to my husband at work and there is a hospital right down the street.  We are lucky cause we are re military and if I for some reason can't make it to Fort Carson hospital We can go to the other one. I wish I didn't have to go to Fort Carson know though, just found out my "ob" would be delivering my little man anyways, it will be some random doctor lol.

Yeah the hospital I'm delivering at is about 40 minutes away. I delivered my daughter at this hospital also and the drive wasn't so bad. I wasn't focused on the drive I guess. Theres a hospital in town but they don't deliver babies....they're also terrible for anything else.

Maybe 5-10 mins depending on traffic. Its right down the raod from my house. I live on a military base and go to the hospital on post. If I were to go off post it would take about an hr.

@GeekMom1213 I see. Well, you'll definitely be comfortable, which is always wanted! I can't imagine no meds, though. My hat's off to every woman who's done it au natural. @sommerrrr I seriously thought I was the only person w/ this problem! They don't have l&d? How weird.

The one I'm going too is an hour away. Not counting traffic... the one near me doesn't have a labor and delivery :(

I wanted a home birth the first time around but we were living in an apartment where we didn't really think the landlord would approve, and my husband was really uncomfortable with the idea anyway. He wasn't so sure what would happen during labor and whether or not everything would go smoothly. Now that we've had one perfect textbook med-free labor with no issues he's completely on board - and we own our own house, so we can do whatever we want!

@Deedebaybeh That's still not too bad. @Jessika20 Lol! Yeah, he should make sure he has everything together. Don't want to get a pregnant woman upset.

Well usually i could get to my hospital in less then 10mins (not far from the house) but they recently finished their new building & will officially be open before my due date. Soooo now i have to travel to the other side of town, still not completely far but it'll take at least 15-20mins to get there. unless my bd is driving, then we'll get there in less then 10 lol
