Maternity Bra's

Hi all -
I was just wondering if any of you know of any good maternity bra brands that cater for larger woman with already big boobs! Im havin trouble finding some that still offer good shape and support. I am in Australia and there is some online but Id rather buy instore I think so I know they look ok and feel good!
Also how much should I allow for breast growth once baby is born and Im breastfeeding?
Also is it true you cant wear underwires at all when breastfeeding?
Thanks ladies - xx

Wow - ok so I was bad - I was a 34 DD and ended with a 36G about 4 days after birth.  That bra fit for about the first year great, then I slowly moved to smaller sizes.  The weirdest part for me was that I couldn't even snap the 34, no way!  Prior to this pregnacy though the 36 G was falling off of me, and today at 27 weeks it is just now starting to somewhat fit again.  YIKES!

As far as how much to allow for breastfeeding here are my experiences so far...
1st baby I started out at 34d and ended at 36dd while nursing.  (I'm not large framed by any means either, so I feel the struggles of trying to find bras that fit...135lbs and 5'7" is my norm)
2nd baby I started out at 34d and ended at 36F!
This time I started out at 34d and am currently at 38E already and have until July still before he is born...yikes!

Hopefully that helps somewhat

Not sure if you can get these, but I am a larger chested woman too and I love the glamourmom.com tanks. I practically lived in them and I nursed my son for 18 months.

Motherhood maternity stores carry both maternity bras and nursing bras, although they tend to be a bit more expensive they work really well.

I just use nicely fitted sports bras, they seem to give me a lot of support and they hold my nursing pads in place very well.

I hope you find what your looking for.

Do you mean Nursing Bras. I asked lactation consultant and she said Maternity bras are waste of money. You should find good Nursing bras. She also said no wires.   SHe recomended to get fitted 2 weeks before my due date and about 10 days after baby is born. It is because breast size changes after actual milk comes in. You might want to check local hospitals. Here in US some hospitals provide that service. You can also buy bras from them.

Good luck.

Lorri I have just the opposite problem I can't find any that cater to the smaller chester women it's either in the middle or nothing right? So far I've only gotten the medela sleep bra it has room to grow if I need it so if I get alot larger when my milk comes in I'll be ok.....and figured I'd get more after my milk comes in.

Hi ladies, I am also from Australia and I found this site in my travels. I have not yet purchsed anything of yet but I plan to as their maternity bras are to die for. They have a great range and I am quite sure they do cater for the larger breasts. Mine just wont stop growing eeek! I hope you find something great and I hope your pregnancies are going great and you feel great. The url is: http://www.zodee.com.au/womens/hotmilk/?partner=google&gclid=CP-ClJCRyZMCFSQtagodq2Ngiw

Ive never been to the lingerie factory. I know hat you mean about quality though as if it not hard enough having to pay upwards of $50 for a bra but we also have to deal with shotty quality.
The bras that i did order from that sight were really good quality nice soft bras (my one at the moment is way too small and is that icky mesh stuff..i crave cotton!). Dont you just want a nice bra that doesnt have to be a mix of disgusting nude color and either no or unattractive decorations. We apparently have the boobs 'everybody' wants and yet no way to house them.

Goodluck!
Oh and I live in East Vic Park so im like 10 mins from the cbd.

i might check the brabar if i have no luck also. im due for a spend up at myer so might have a look there too... theres also the lingerie factory in perth (i was actually a plussize model for them) but im pretty sure they dont do maternity plus the stuff isnt the best quality.

Hey,
Im in Australia and i find it impossible to find good maternity bras anywhere. I am in the process of ordering some off the internet and it fairly easy and a huge range(i.e actually nice bras for big boobs). My boobs are huge but my waste is tiny so it is impossible to find bras in normal shops. The sight i use lets you get them sent out then if you dont like them or they dont fit you send them back (free postage) and either chose a different size/type or get a refund no question asked. They have ALL sizes, literally. I got sent out two size 10G bras and they were way too small so now i am awaiting my size 10Js(eeeeeeeeeeek).

The website is bellaforma.com.au and they are situated in QLD.

Hope this helps.
If not try the bra bar in the city, they have most sizes. And myer will order in anything you request.

idk where to get bras instore where you are....but my mom only wears underwires, and she breastfed all 4 of us kids, with no problems.....

i hear it's bad, but as i said she didnt have problems, and i don't have huge bb's, but they are big enough only underwire works, so that's my only option....i've even tried on some maternity bras just to see, and they don't support me now for ****! so i can't imagine them working later! i'm a 40 small d now, that doesnt count my milk coming in!
