Pregnant?

Hey ladies!! Ok, yesterday i went to the doctors because i am 12 days late on my period. I have taken HPT's, they  were negative. The doctor gave me a vaginal ultrasound...she said it could be to early for a hpt to pick up. Anyway when she was performing the ultrasound she said that my "endometrial", line shows that im not going to get my period. When i asked her..."you see this all the time what do you think", she said yes i think you are pregnant. She sent me for blood work and i got this morning. I wonder what she saw on the ultrasound that made her think this. Its driving me crazy cause i know a doctor wouldnt say " i think you are", if she wasent VERY sure knowing that my husband and i have been trying. I just pray i dont have false hope! has anyone heard of this before?...i have been looking the endometrial line up online and cant find anything that says  that a doctor can tell if your pregant by that because mine is thin not thick! Please help!!!

i dont know much about provera. but maybe you should repeat the blood test again. it still may have been to soon!? with the average cycle (28 days) a woman is expected to ovulate 14 days counting first day of period as day 1. if your cycle is longer than 28 days add a few more days to time ovulation. theres no harm in having sex every other day to ensure you catch the egg. once you get a period, start counting from them. look into tempature charting as well. i know you check your tempature everyday and when it rises it indicates ovulation and when it drops ouvlation has passed. theres more to it but i havent done it before and i know lots of ladies on here have.

hey ladies...thanks for all your input! i got my results today and im not pregnant. the doc said that she thought for sure that i was. i am sooo upset...i really thought this was it...i was finally goin 2 get a chance to be a mommy! because i am 2 weeks late and the ultrasound showed that i wasent goin to get my period she put me on provera. now it has me thinkin. i have no idea when my ovulation is....because the meds will force me too bleed can i count 14 days from that to see when im going to ovulate...or does that not even count? My doctor said i have her stumped...which kinda scares me...i hope everything is ok with my body. my husband and i have only been trying for 4 months...and even tho thats a short time frame it feels like years to me...previous to that i was on birth control for 6 years. I just wanted to update you guys!  Oh and does anyone know anything about provera?? Thanks Again

i forgot to mention, that even though your 12 days late and not getting positives from home tests, dont worry, its probably still early on. You could have ovulated late and like i said in my previous post, baby havent implanted yet.

Heres my story to help better explain, my last period was june 4th 09, i tested on the 1st and 3rd of july 09 and both were neg, but then i tested on 9th july 09 and it was pos. therefore i ouvlated extremely late in my cycle, and baby had only began to implant around the end of june to the begininng of july which is why my tests were neg on 1 and 3rd july but pos on the 9th july. by then my baby had implanted (you can usually get postivies 6 to 10 days after fertilization) this is also why when i went in on the 11th july i only saw a thicker than usual uterine lining, i was in the very early stages of my pregnancy and baby hadnt even developed a sac yet, it was probably still a blastocyst(ball of cells that will later turn into embryo, placenta, sac with amnio fluid etc) in my uterine lining. way too small for ultra sound to see. usually 5 weeks after lmp you can see a sac and sometimes embryo in the sac (also called feotal pole) by 6 weeks u should be able to see sac and embryo and by 7 weeks able to see a fluttering heart beat. at 6 weeks 5 days i heard and saw my babys heart beat.

sorry for the long post! keep us updated!

it was too thin to be getting a period soon thats correct, it being thin however does not indicate your not preggo yet, its probably in the early stages and momofthreecrazykids is right, as your pregnancy progressess the lining will get thicker to welcome baby. if your indeed preggo its very early on still.

Keep us posted. if the blood test is neg, dont give up yet. Give baby a chance to implant, blood nor urine test wont pick up on HCG until baby implants into ur uterine lining.

The lining is what "feeds" the baby.  So as you get pregnant, the lining becomes thicker so the embryo can grow.

Good luck and let us know your results

hey i went for the blood test this morning. i should get the results by friday. in ur post u mentioned that the line was thick....mine was thin...well to thin to show that i was going to get my cycle. so does the line have to be thick to be pregnant

She probably measure your endometrial lining (blood along side the uterus walls) depending on the thickness, it can tell her if you've conceived or should be getting a period soon (which later becomes your period if your not pregnant) when i went for my first check up on the 11th july after getting a pos result on the 9th july, doc checked for mines as well, it was thicker than normal, even thicker than when your not pregnant but getting a period soon, so even though it was too early to see a baby, he can tell i was pregnant by measuring my lining. get your doctor to explain more for you to understand.

what were the results of the blood test?
