8 pounds isn't a big baby. I'm 5'4 and had an 8#8 baby with no issues. My 5'6 friend had an 11.5 pound baby and a 9.5 pound baby. Both were born completely natural. Eight pounds is fairly average.

The day before I went into labor I was given an estimate of about 7.5lbs and my son was born at 9lbs even. Estimates are just guesses. they can't tell you anything for sure. And even if that guess of 7lbs at 36 weeks is accurate, generally babies gain about 0.5oz per day in the last few weeks, sometimes a little more. So if 7lbs was correct then you're looking at about an 8lb baby by 40 weeks. Totally manageable, totally average, totally normal.

They told me my baby is 7 lbs now and I'm only 36 weeks! So I'm curious how much more she's gonna weigh by the time my due date comes
