Can anyone help out and let me know personal experiences about cerclages? I'm very nervous

You can still have a vaginal birth. My friend did. They un stitch you At 37 weeks (which I heard us torture) but then they let u go vaginally if they think your cervix will do Ook thru the process.

Hi laydies I was wondering did you all have ur babys vaginally? Or because of the cerclage they have to have a c section?  I really don't eNt a c_section I would really like to have my baby vaginally so I totally forgot to ask my Dr about that and my apointment is already set for Tuesday and the office is closed till Tuesday.

Oh wow. Then that must be very unconftrible. Let us know how he is going to do it. I still need to go to talk to mine on Tue. But I have read they do a spinal and give medication for the contractions just in case u start having some. All my Dr said is that I needed it and said that he would set up the date.

I heard my docs doesn't use spinal or anesthesia!!!!

A cerclage is a stitch they put on the cervix to try and help with the weight of the baby. It is usually done in some who have weak cervix

I had a cerclage in at 15 wks and Now I'm 28 wks tomorrow. I had a spinal tap when they put the cerclage in and had to stay at the hospital for 6 hours after the procedure. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you so much. I had my baby boy at 5 months also and he passed away so that's whybmy Dr is pushing for me to get it. But u explained it very well and helped me calm down.

Don't worry ladies I'm about to get my 2nd one. Its a simple procedure. The doctor will either give you a spinal to numb you from waste down or put you to sleep. I personally got numb from the waste down. They explained everything as they went. It was quick and wasn't painful afterward. Only downfall for me was I couldn't have sex until after my son was born. Just to back track a little bit I have an incompetant cervix. It dilated when I was 5mths pregnant with my daughter and she died. If it wasn't for the cerclage I don't think my son or baby # 2 would make it.

I am also. I am gonna need mine soon. But so scarred thanks for asking this question. Dr said I will prob get it on my 16 weeks.
