Miscarriage to Come? (detailed)

I'm 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant. **waves a banner in pride**
About five days ago I had very mild pink mucusy vaginal discharge and very very mild cramping. Seeing as this is my first pregnancy, I freaked out and rushed to the emergency room. They did an ultraound and saw nothing so they sent me home and called me in for a transvaginal ultrasound where they told me that everything looked fine, to go home and to come back if I was soaking through pads in like an hour.

Over the next few days, the bleeding went from pinky mucus to just full out sried blood but only when I whiped. Tonight, however, I'm having worse cramps on my right side/back and the bleeding is more blood-like. It's not "bright red" yet but it's a mixture between dried blood and red blood. There's been some mucus too but it's mostly dried/red blood.
WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!
Should I run back to the emergency room or wait to see what happens?
Anybody have a similar story that can tell me their outcome?

I know this is going to hurt for a while, but try be strong and look forward. you will need to give yourself time to grief. I had a miscarriage 8 months ago and it still hurt, but I'm a much better now. Soon you will have lots of kids. This sh*t only make us stronger!

I spotten light pink with my daughter around 8 weeks.
Not like what you're describing but some women can bleed during pregnancy and be perfectly fine.

I hope everything goes well for you.

so I just got home from the hospital. They did a vaginal exam (if I wasn't feeling awkward before, that put the icing on the cake lol) and can't conclude either way. I get a call on Monday to have another ultrasound. My fingers are crossed that my body's just being a jerk and I'm not miscarrying.
Thanks to everyone who is reading and supporting me, I love you all.

alright guys, it's getting worse. Theres a lot of bloody mucus and the mucus is red blood-- as in bright red blood. I don't know what to do. I'm so scared and... I don't know. I don't want to spend forever in Emerg just to find out that I'm "fine." There are too many sick people to waste Doctors time...

You should do a blood test to see your progesterone level. Miscarriages usually happen due to low progesterone levels. If it is too low it is good to take progesterone supplements until 12 weeks, like a progesterone suppository.
I have a miscarriage before and now I'm pregnant again (5 weeks and 4 days) and my progesterone level was good but could be better so I just started the progesterone suppositories.
I am praying to have a success this time!

thanks everyone. it's slowed down significantly and I have a doctor's appointment on the 16th so I may just *try* not to panic any more until then unless I start gushing.

With my pregnancy, i bleed a couple times, i was so scared, but nothing went wrong at all. bleeding can most deffinately be normal. it was my first pregnancy also. but when you are pregnant, any concern, bleeding ,cramping probably should be taken up with doc. and it will also put your mind at ease. good luck and God bless. : )

Some women experience bleeding in early pregnancy, and the cramping could be due to your uterus expanding for your first pregnancy. I did not bleed with my son (also first pregnancy) but I did have cramping. Like the ER doc said, I wouldn't worry unless you are bleeding heavily, having sever cramps, or passing clots. If they did an u/s and everything looked ok, I'm sure you'll be fine. If you have been having sex, it could cause you to bleed some, and to have cramps, I did notice this was common while I was pregnant. Your cervix is more sensitive now, and even if you go to the doc and she/he does a pelvic exam they will tell you that you may spot for a little while. Don't worry too much, it's best not to stress. If you do start to bleed more and have the cramps or clots, I'd definitely head to the ER.

no, I don't have any clotting, it's just blood and cramping.

I'm so happy to hear that you're pregnant again.

Do you have any clots or anything? When I miscarriaged I was 5 weeks and 3 days.  It would have been my first child also. it started light with clots and light cramps and then it progressed within a couple hours to full blown bleeding and mucus and major cramps. You may want to go back to the Emergency Room. I hope everthing is okay with you.

PS. I am now pregnant again with hopefully my first full pregnancy and my first child.

I really hope you are okay.
