Missed a Pill and now have a late period

Hey guys, I missed a pill and had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. My GP told me that missing one pill and remembering to take it as soon as possible probably wouldn't affect the Pill's effectiveness. But now I am waiting for my period I am 4 days late. I took a pregnancy test but it came back as negative, but I don't think it would show up I would be pregnant as I only had  unprotected sex a week and a half to two weeks ago. I thought my period was going to start 2 days ago as I spotted a small amount of pink discharge, but then nothing. Is this normal to happen whilst on the pill regardless of missing a pill or could I be pregnant? I don't really have any signs of being pregnant except for awful backache and enlarged (but not sore) breasts and this could be a sign of pending menstruation?

Thank you. I think I will wait till I start my next packet and if it has still not come by then I will get another test. I am feeling very nauseous right now aswell so I am either pregnant or I ate a dodgy pizza lol! Bit scared if I am pregnant, but I will be nonetheless happy :) Thank you for your response :D

missing the pill like that can definitely throw off your hormones and be the reason your late, but you could also be pregnant. since you said you had sex about 2 weeks ago its a good possibility you were ovulating at the time..i would wait a few days and test again. my first 2 tests were negative before i got my bfp. good luck!
