having the LEEP done should not affect your chances of having a baby. i had it done on 22nd december 2008 and fell pregnant on the 30th december 2008!! there is still hope.
good luck

i had the checkyou're talking about...i've had quite a few borderline paps. there was nothing wrong with me at all...the low grade/ borderline results are pretty common. have you got pcos? that could account for your wacky periods...unfortunately so can cancer. if you're not pregnant now, i advise you quit trying until you've had these tests done because, if you're not in the clear, they would tell you to have an abortion.
I my self don't get periods. My problem is due to non-ovulation. Ever since I was 17 I stopped having periods. I did not get a period unless I was on birth control. When I tried to conceive my daughter I had to do fertility injections. After I had my daughter I only had the bleeding from labor and after that I did not have anything anymore. I can go years without a period. What caused that was that I have cyst in my ovaries. All the doctors I have gone to just give me birth control to regulate my period.
My sister had an abnormal pap and they didn't do a biopsy right away. They re-checked her in 6 months and if that had been abnormal, then they would do the biopsy. Her pap came back normal the 2nd time. Pap tests are very sensitive. If the doctor brushed your vaginal wall with the q-tip on the way out, that could cause a false positive result. Having intercourse within 24-48 hours can cause an abnormal result. There are so many things that can cause a false abnormal result. If your result was borderline, the only reason they would be rushing you in to have a biopsy is because of your family history. But better safe than sorry....just take one day at a time and I'm sure that everything will be fine. Just remember that you are not your mom!
Thank you for all who answered he also talked about a coloscopy as well!
Yeah My OBGYN told me last year I have pcos but he just said it he didn't do any test to prove I had it!
Low grade? that means HPV. HPV doesn't affect your fertility nor your periods
I just hope everything is going to be ok!
Hi girlie. I had an abnormal pap this last January and on May 12th I had a LEEP procedure done. It was uncomfortable to say the least, but it won't effect your periods or your fertility. No worries. I know it is a scary thought, but when you get it done you have a clean slate to start on trying for a baby. It scared me and I had so many questions and I didn't know where to turn but your doctor should be able to answer all of the questions that you have :)
