Grinding teeth is a stress reflex. It has nothing to do with worms. Also, if your jaws don't line up just right you can be a grinder too. That's why I do it. My bottom jaw is slightly offset from my top. They can give you a special fitted mouth guard & it won't come out while sleeping.
The dentist will probably recommend a mouth guard. Her teeth will become more prone to cavities and weak gums the longer it goes on.
Ok thanks. I don't think she'd leave a guard in and would be nervous she'd choke during night. And I don't know bout the worms lol. It was her birthday last week and had a party last weekend and this weekend so I will try that too..
I'm from the carribean & according to my mother , grandmother etc., grinding your teeth happens when you have "worms" . Like from eating too much sweets. For adults we usually take a purge which cleans out your system , but for babies & toddlers I think milk of magnesia works . If not just cut candy out his diet for a few
My husband only grinds his teeth when he is in pain cause of his eye disease. But i hear its normal. Get a mouth gaurd or something. I hear a warm.wash cloth helps. I know the sound is horrible!!
Ok thanks. She was suppose to have a dentist appointment today but she's sick so had to make different appointment but I'm going to ask
Sorry i dont really have an answer for you but im 20 and i still grind my teeth i even put holes in my retainer so soon i have to go back to the orthodontist to get new ones. Maybe the dentist can give your kid a mouth guard or something to wear at night for the teeth. I dont really know but it is a bad habbit especially since i started off pretty young my teeth are filed down.
