Using a wet wipe and wiping her should help! Definitely scared being in a new setting away from her Momma. This is what happened to a stray we took in. And then he had diarrhea all over because of his nerves. He's now lived with us for 2 months and is a champ at going in the litter box (though it stinks really bad! YUCK!).
yes she is going on her own..and she finally did her pee....YAY i think shes just scared! She was up all night meaowing but she finally slept for a few hours today which is a good sign i guess that she feels safe enough to sleep!! I hope she gets comfortable soon though...it breaks my heart to know she misses her mommy!! She hides under the couch and thats where she stayss!! She has eaten a bit though so im convinced she will use it again when she needs to!! Thanx ladies!
i agree with heather, the kitty might be scared. i know it took my new little one a day or 2 to go to the bathroom when she came home with me. the best thing to do is keep taking her to the litter box, every hour if you can and try to get her used to it. Also cuddling her and calming her down is great. the more relaxed she feels, the better off she will be.
did the person you get her from say she was going to the bathroom on her own?
she could be scared. new home, new environment. my kitten was 2 1/2 weeks old when we took her (she was sick and her mother couldn't feed her properly b/c of all her brothers and sisters) and we had to stimulate her to go to the potty, give her a bottle and she still cried. just because she was somewhere new and scared. now she's a healthy, crazy 8 month old menace. and i love the fuzz butt more and more every day. lol
it makes sence i guess...lol..il try that!
This is going to sound gross but I have heard some new kittens need to be stimulated to go to the bathroom because that is what their mother's do...they lick their bums to get them to go...you can try taking a warm wash cloth and rubbing that area...Another thing, that loosens stools, if you think she is constipated, is dairy...I'd try stimulating her first because that is pretty common for young kittens...Good luck!
