THanks everyone!! I really appreciate it!
Well, personally I don't like to name my child the 'shortening' of a name, such as Katie, so I'd call name her Kaitlyn (I prefer the traditional Gaelic spelling Caitlin) and use Katie for short. Taylor I don't like at all sorry. It's a really bland surname, and the trend to use it now as a first name is awful. Either way, Katie Lynn goes together much better. I named my two children months before I gave birth, and incredibly, they suit their names so well. My son is Giovanni Patrick Anthony and my daughter Lucia Emiglia Marietta. I chose their first names because of our Italian heritage. Good Luck! Who knows, you may come up with something entirely different when you see your little angel!!
I agree that Katie Lynn is more feminine. Taylor reminds me of a boy name IMHO.
Katie Lynn is more feminine I think. My first daughter has my middle name too as does mymmom and hers:) Cute love it!
I used to babysit for a Taylor which was a girl and I went with her mom to get her b-day cake and they had cars and all blue!!!! It said pink and girl but the lady thought taylor was a boy name so the rest was a mistake! Her mom cried her eyes out and we had just enought itme to make one ourselves with pick. Her mom also when she enrolle dher in preschool they put boy on her charts and she never knew till she moved her to kindergarten. I know that stuff seems unlikly to happen but it does and why I never have picked gender nutral names for mine. Just do not want to go through that stuff.
I like both names. As a bus driver I see many children named Katie and Taylor. Most of the Taylor's here are girls :D! If I were to vote I like Katie Lynn best as stated above because of the better ring to it and going along better with Sarah. But, I too waited until delivery to name my kids for sure and my son's name was changed. For some reason, you just know what will fit. Therefor, I withhold my vote and tell ya to savor both names and decide on D-day when you see your little angel. We were going to name our son Alden James Loyal and at the last moment Loyal was dropped and his name is just Alden James (AJ). You'll know what will fit her!! I promise :D!
Sarah
I like both names but I think Katie is so pretty. It is a popular name; however, it has really always been and has never gone out of style for many generations...it's a classic pretty name. Taylor is super cute but is a very trendy name. Katie is my vote!
I voted for Katie. I think it goes better with Lynn as the middle name. I also think Katie is far less popular than Taylor. Of course I may be biased as well since I love the name Kaylin
They are both pretty names....But I voted for Taylor because Katie is such a popluar name....
I voted for Katie. I personally don't like the name Taylor (sorry :( ) and Katie Lynn has a better ring to it.
I didnt vote because: I like the name Taylor better but katie lynn sounds better than Taylor lynn. Hmm Im in the name delema my self.
I voted for Katie. Taylor is way too popular for me. There were 14 babies in my son's waterbabies class, 5 Taylor's... YES.. FIVE! Both male & female. My friend has a daughter named Taylor, and they call her "tay" or "taytay" too.
tough one! i love the name Taylor but i voted for Katie because i think it sounds cuter with Sarah :)
i love taylor if i could have girl i think that name would be in my choice of names (i have 3 boys) good luck but i just love taylor lynn it has a nice ring
Katie Lynn has a better ring..but both names are pretty!
i think taylor is gourges!!!
Well Steph,, im little biast:~) Aer having 3 boys and finally getting our girl we fell in LOVE with Taylor! We started calling her Taytay becasue Dalton (11 months older) can say it so well. So he is constantly saying Taytay! Its the cutest thing! I can see Sarah calling her baby sis Taytay, lol! But then again Katie kinda goes well with Sarah and Lynn too. Good luck with your decsion! My vote was for Taylor!!!
The great thing about Taylor is that it is gender neutral. I have a gender neutral name with a girly middle name. When I apply for a job that is more male appealing I just use my first name and when I apply for a female type job then I use both. Works like a charm :) Taylor is our second choice for a girl right now. Taylor Jude after my late mother.
I still like Katie best :)
I love the name Taylor, but I couldn't name any kids that because we have a town named taylor not far from me in my state. lol
Yeah you could do that also..i've known lots of people who've done that and they just know when the baby comes out what the right name will be :) Anyway good luck with everything!
Thanks for your comments. We talked about Kaitlyn...but decided on Katie....but now that Taylor is in the mix...we are pondering both.....the decision may have to wait until she is born!
Taylor is pretty also though
we named our daughter Kaitlyn and she has since adopted the nickname Katie, i really like it though :)
