Thanks for your advice. It's better now but still there especially the agressive coughing. If it continues for the next few days, I will see a pneumologist as soon as I can.
Happy Holidays!!
No ventolin is not available otc...I'm asthmatic as well (badly...all my life!) that is why I brought it up...And yes, colds, allergies, even weather changes can worsen asthma and or bring on attacks.
Yes to all the recommendations above. I'll also emphasise the asthma thing. I thought I had a bad chest cold. My ob asked me to see a pulmonologist. I was wrong. It's asthma. (But think it may be complicated by cold/allergies).
Is ventolin available otc? Try that as well as the rest. If the ventolin makes a big difference then it's probably at least complicated by asthma.
Humidifier, hot water with lemon, vicks vapor rub...rest..tylenol to help with the achiness of a heaving cough...hot showers (but not too hot to elevate your temp-that can be bad for the baby...just enough for you to get some steam), keep coughing and try to hack that mucous out...Perhaps you are asthmatic and not being treated properly...maybe you need some asthma medicine...just a thought...
oh and I hate honey as well. I'm living in Germany so we don't have stuff like Benadryl here (but we do in Australia).
