Such fun! The most important thing is the camera/video recorder and that can go in Dad's bag. Dad can bring a change of clothes and toiletries (maybe he'll go home to shower though), his pillow if he is sleeping there (why not be most comfy), list of phone numbers to call, book or magazines, and a special gift for you (optional, but always nice). For you--- I only used hospital gowns in the hospital because having a baby is messy, after having a baby is messy and the gowns are easy access. Bring a robe though if you are leaving your room. Make up bag and toiletries, hair stuff. You may or not shower at the hospital (hospital bathrooms are a little creepy). socks, slide on shoes. I really didn't have the energy to read while in the hospital with my kiddos. So, I didn't need much else. cell phone chargers, of course. bring the diaper bag, take everything on the baby cart (you paid for it already) and put in diaper bag. baby needs going home outfit and car seat. Maybe a baby blanket. That's about it that I can think of. :>) Happy pushing!
