Pain while urinating?

i just had my son on Thursay(October 9th) and I got an epidural so they inserted a catheter.. Okay so my question is how long does it usually take for the pain to go away while I pee? It burns sooooo bad! It's not my stitches and I've tried the squirt bottle with warm water,  I've been using witch hazel, and I've been using some burn spray they gave me.. But I'm soooo scared to urinate because it hurts soooo bad! Any advice?

Okay thank you ladies! And I definitely am going to call my doctor Monday if it's not a little better.. And to be honest I was already numb so I didn't feel them put it in or take it out..

It lasts awhile maybe a week I know the pain you're talking about! I was scared too!! It's okay it'll go away I didn't know how to help ease the pain either but just pull thru! :)

Im not sure about the catheter after the epidural but ive had several catheters for bladder problems and its usually extremely uncomfortable for afew days after. If its still really bad by monday, id ask the doctor to make sure nothing is wrong and see if there is anything they can do. Drink lots of water instead of pop or juices, makes it alittle less painful
