false positive????

How often women get false positive??? I did a test about 5 days ago and it was negative, did one today with first urine and it came positive (“pregnant”)  ( used clear blue digital for both) So, I did not missed my period yet, I have a reg. cycle 28-29 days, so I am not due any arlier then 25th if not later. What are the chances of it being false positive? I’ve done so many test through out my life, never got a false positive, not even close…. But seems like people say clear blue is not reliable at all..

I would not worry about it, as long as you do not have a Chemical Preg, i would say you are def preg, that is the test i used too when i was preg, Clear Blue picks it up early. I get the ones that do not have lines, so you do not have to makes sense out of them, they just say preg or not preg. So i would not worry just relax and go to the dr when you get a chance. My dr said false Pos are really unlikely. Good luck!

I believe a Chemical Pregnancy is alot more likely then a False Positive. I too thought the same thing, but my dr says it is real hard for the test to come back positive if it is not. And that sometimes women get preg and get a pos read and then take it again and it is neg because they had a early Mc, which is a Chemical Preg, before the baby could implant itself. Hope that helps, ask your dr.

There are a few medications that can cause a false positive, but they are not common meds.

I'd say congrats!

most people say clear blue is unreliable if it is *not* digital because they are well known for evap lines. but if it was a digital, i would say your pregnant! make an appointment with your doctor and confirm it! :) good luck!! :)

like nickie said, false pos way less likely then a false neg, u might have tested a bit early when u got that false neg etc

go get ur blood test done thats the most acurate way if u cant get that done for a bit, go take a few more tests see how they go if u get all positives i wouldnt be worried about not being pregnant!
good luck hun!

False positives are way less likely to happen then false negatives. Most hpt can be used up to 5 days before your missed period. Sounds to me like you are pregnant! Let me be the first to congratulate you! I would definitely make an appointment with your doctor and have them do a blood test to make sure and find out how far along you are. Keep us posted on how it goes!
