Kind of run it down for me what happens during the 3d gender reveal ultrasound? I have it on monday and i will be 19 w 2days , they said its an hour long.. what happens during that hour lol

I'll be having the anatomy ultrasound Tuesday and I think we are talking about the same test. Yes the will tell you the gender but the ultrasound tech will be measuring the baby's head, heart and lungs, counting fingers and toes, and just making sure baby is growing properly. I heard she won't do much talking and won't let you know anything else but the gender after the dr reviews the scans he/ she will get back to you on the results. I'm not sure if they let you know but drink 24 oz. of water 1 hr before appointment and don't empty out bladder. Right before appointment drink cold orange juice so if the baby isn't in the right position it will at least be moving and the tech might get a flash. Good luck!

If you go to your dr what hbomhof said it is it. But if you pay to go somewhere else then they really show you everything and they do measure as they go its so nice and soothing. They have a big flat screen that the ultrasound is playing on. you'll get to watch your baby jump all around it and everything. I'm so happy i did my 3d gender ultrasound at a different place than my dr. My dr office gave me ugly pics and this place gave me a ton of pics and i got a dvd. if you go look on my profile then you can see some of the pics. i didnt post any from my 20 week scan from the dr because they were that bad!
I liked it so much im going back for my 4D ultrasound!!! They dont do it until later. It shows better pics in color of the baby and all her facial features!

Basically they are just taking measurements to make the your baby is growing at the proper speed, also they need specific shots of the baby for your doctor/midwife. Its not so bad when I had mine done they explained step by step what they were doing, measuring or checking. I'm sure they'll do the same for you if you ask.
