hi i need help, my sister is 8 months pregnant, is on methadone and was just perscribed promethazine,cyclobenzaprine and zolpidem are these safe drugs to mix with methadone and pregnancy?   she did just recently switch doctors for unexplained reasons..Hope someone can help

Hi:) I'm not aware of the others but I know for a fact methadone is NOT safe for pregnancy. I have a friend of a friend that was on methadone while pregnant because she was addicted to Vicodin and other drugs. They gave her methadone to ween her off. I can tell you while she was taking this, she was pregnant and her baby was born with A LOT of issues. He was born with a hole in the rough of his mouth, he is 3 and still cannot walk or talk. It's a sad sad situation and the quicker you can get your sister the help she needs, the better for that baby's outcome. One question why is she on methadone?

I don't see how they would be safe. I'm not a doctor but it's to be known that taking medication during pregnancy is not "really" safe. I think she should get a second opinion from a doctor, this is my advice. Hope it helps.
