Pregnant!!!!!! Now what?

I took 1 digital pregnancy test on 2 different days and both were positive!!!! I made an appointment to go see my OBGYN to get a blood test and all that good stuff early next week. Until then what should I do? Is there anything I should be doing or not doing? Food to stay away from? Activities to stay away from? Any advice would be awesome! Thanks everyone!! My husband and I are very excited. This is going to be our first child! :)

They suggest consuming a gallon of water a day, take prenatal vitamins......cut back on cold cuts and seafood...and enjoy! 40 weeks goes by very fast!

Congrats! Just drink tons of water, take your prenatals, be careful of certain seafood and deli meat as they can contain bacteria...... and don't eat for two! LOL! You don't have to eat double the amount you usually eat. ;-)

Hey ladies!!! So I went to the doctor and I am 5 weeks!!! (well I was 5 weeks on Tuesday) They took my blood work and all my level came back very good! This is very exciting! My husband and I are VERY thrilled. I have another appointment scheduled on the 22nd for an U/S in which my Doc said i will get everything. booklets and advice. and we will even be able to hear the heartbeat! UGH the 22nd cant come fast enough!!

One thing I have learned. DONT GOOGLE MY CONCERNS. all that does is freak me out. LOL. So if something happens i will just have to call my doc. :)

Thanks for all your support ladies!! I will keep you updated and continue to read all the posts! xo

I'm 19 and a month or so pregnant; my mom had me at a young age (18) and my brother at 20 the day before she turned 21.. but what she has told me, my aunt, and my grandma also you should stay away from eating a lot of pasta because it breaks down into sugar, about a cup of it isn't bad. People on here have told me to eat fruits and veggies, eat small meals through out the day, about 1700 calories a day. 10 or more glasses of water, the more water the better. but let me tell you, it makes you have to pee constantly. The ER doctor told me not to do much walking, but that's because I've been having these sharp pains, no sex until you go to your doctor.Get as much rest as you need, I'm constantly tired, and it's hard because I'm in college and I need to go to classes but I can barely function some days. Stay away from caffeine it's not good at all for the baby. Dairy is good and that's about all I have right now. Good luck, and Congratulations!  I wasn't planning on getting pregnant so it's scary but exciting at the same time.

I WOULD START ON PRENATL VITAMINS THERE IS NO SPECIFIC FOOD YOU HAVE TO STAY AWAY FROM OR LIMIT MAYBE SEAFOOD BUT OTHER THAN THAT ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS WAIT FOR THAT APPOINTMENT

from my first trimester...don't wear your body out you will probably become very sleepy! Like what was already said stay away from smoking and drinking alcohol.  Don't lift very heavy things (20lbs +).  You can buy prenatals at a drug store.  The only medication you are supposed to take is Tylenol (no aspirin or Motrin) if you are currently taking a prescription I would call your doctor and see if you should stop.  Eat right and stay healthy and drink plenty of water!  Try to stay away from caffeine and junk food! Congrats! Let us know what happens at the doctors.
