Empty sac on sonogram

Accordin to my LMP I should be about 8 weeks pregnant. But according to the size on my sono Im about 5 weeks and 2 days. I had a transvaginal sono monday night cuz of severe crampin and lower back pain that I had for a month. I found out I was pregnant this past friday. The tech was able to see a sac but no yolk or fetus inside, not even a flutter of a beat. My HCG is over 3400. I need to know if maybe my pregnancy may be earlier than estimated. Any one have a clue??

Well i just had another sonogram on wednesdau. they can finally see a yolk sac but no fetal pole. if my hcg does not go over 10,000 by the time the results come back then my pregnancy is in trouble but if it does then that means i am earlier than expected and will have to be watched n retested every week on my levels.

You should able to see something on the ultrasound by 7 weeks.  If one has a miscarriage, the test will still turn postive until your HCG levels drop, and that could take weeks.  I know because, I had a miscarriage March of this year.  It was the most devastating thing that I had to go through.  I really wanted the baby too.  Luckily, I was able to keep my head up and think positive with support from my family.  After waiting for 1 menstrual cycle after my D n C, I got pregnant again. I am now 12 weeks and 2 days preggo.  What was really sad about this miscarriage was that a close friend of mine, told me she was pregnant and due on the same day I should have been due.  She told all this to me while I was miscarrying. She didn't know I was pregnant though.  I felt really depressed everytime I talked to her, it reminded me of my baby that I lost.  To add to that, my friend was bleeding throughout her first trimester.  She bleed so much, she had to change pads every hour, and she lost clots big as your fist.  Her bleeding did NOT end up with a miscarriage. She is 7 months pregnant now, with a healthly girl.

Oh i am worried even more now my daughter goes for her scan as she had a bleed 2 weeks ago when she would have been at 3 weeks pregnancy and now at 5 plus and she has been going through hell the past 2 weeks i have never seen so many pregnancy tests she as done loads to try and see if the positive results are still there..If you can't see much at 8 weeks that means she has another 3 weeks of this i worry for her mental state let alone her pregnancy.

I was recently in a similar situation. I went to the dr's to confirm my pregnancy.  I thought I was 7 weeks preggo from my LMP.  Based on the ultrasound, they were unable to find nothing but a sac.  I had to go back to the dr's office in 5 days to confirm if I had a blight ovum.  Fortunately, when I came back, we were able to find a baby and a heartbeat.  We were so estatic.  The dr measured me, and I was one week behind.  A few days makes a big difference.  Don't give up hope

Yes, it's possible to earlier than you thought. If your cycles are long or irregular than basing pregnancy on your LMP (last period) is not accurate as you would ovulate much later than someone who is more regular.
