I have the option to get induced for a vbac... i just wouldnt be able to get cervadil but from what i understood pitocin was still allowed... it will be 2 years since my last csection but im just going with the elected csection.... if by chance this baby drops (i dont think it will tho) then i seriously consider the vbac but my Dr said theres always a 50/50 chance for a vbac... the earliest would be 1 week before due date and the latest they would allow me is 1 week past... my csection is at 39 weeks :)
My second son was late and I didnt want to be induced but finally after two weeks past my due date the Dr said it was necessary for the health of my son. When he was born he had low blood sugar and needed and IV so they could get his blood sugar to stabilize. If I knew then what I know now I would have liatened to my Dr and let him induce me earlier. I had no complications due to the induction actually it was my easiest delivery but I did have complications due to waiting.
I was 3 days over with my first I got induced. I was having contractions on my own so they gave me pitocin to speed labor cuz I wasn't dilating fast enough. The contractions do come stronger when you are induced, but I had my baby 5-6 hours later with no pain meds. It wasn't not that bad for me, I rather not go over because of the problems that exist past 40 weeks.
My Dr told me I would not get induced because I had a previous c section, it puts too much stress on the scar. I'm really not wanting another c section either!
My drs have a rule...this is what they say... "we'll let you see 40w but not 41w"...my drs sre really cautious and they are great because of that...if your overdue lots of things can happen that can create an issue for baby...im sure your drs have your babys best interest in mind :)
I'm just afraid of another c section. I hate the idea of being cut open again!!! I'm hoping IF I DO get induced it doesn't result in a c section. Pray for me ladies!
