I went to the dr yesterday asked that same question she said crab shrimp and lobster is ok as long as it is cooked other fish to check your local dhec website for fish and mercury levels they have
only if the crab is boiled if they steam them then its not good for u I went to a nutrician class and they said if its boiled in a pot the crabs u can eat them but if they steeam them then no I can eat them
So if I ordered something like crab, that wouldn't hurt the baby at all? I just want to make sure
The fish you should completely avoid are Marlin, Orange roughy, tilefish, Swordfish, Shark, king Mackerel, and Tuna ( bigeye, Ahi).
You can eat fish as long as it's cooked properly. Anything raw - sushi, shellfish etc is a no go. So just order something that you know is going to be cooked all the way through and you should be fine.
I go to red lobster as much as I can lol. One or two servings a weeks of seafood or shellfish are very good for you as long as it's fully cooked. There are four types of fish to completely avoid because of their mercury content, but I can't remember the names. I know shark is one to avoid.
From what I have heard fish is really good for you.
