Should I Be Optimistic?

Currently I may be pregnant but I'm worried. I'm scared to get too excited. I have a 31day cycle and on the 3rd I took a HPT and got a BFP but since it was still early I waited until this morning to take another test. The second HPT came up with another BFP and now I'm a little more sure. However, in late December I had a chemical pregnancy and in mid-January I had a ruptured ovarian cyst but my husband and I were told it was okay to continue TTC. Before I make a doctor's appointment I want to be totally sure that I'm pregnant, how long should I wait to be sure that I'm pregnant? I'm having some symptoms: cramping, lower back pain and some queasiness. My bbs aren't sore but they do itch like crazy. I'm a 30FF so I'm not sure if my bbs should hurt yet anyway. If I am pregnant I should be 5wks today, when can I be sure that I'm really pregnant and this isn't a chemical pregnancy?

First of all congrats... a positive is most often than not just that :)

Maybe you should call your doctor.  They will be able to do a series of blood test to make sure your HCG levels are doubling every few days to make sure the pregnancy is progressing normally.  I know it is hard after a loss or a chemical pregnancy to get excited and not be nervous.  Maybe the doctor can offer you some reassurance so that you can get excited.  Best of luck to you.

You need to call them tomorrow and have the doctor confirm pregnancy.

Thank you both, I've been putting off calling the doctor because I'm afraid of what they might say. First thing in the morning I'll make the call and I'll keep you posted. *crosses fingers* Wish me luck!

Okay, doctor's are driving me nuts. I have to go to the base to get tested again before they'll give me a referral to see an OB. I'll probably head over there tomorrow, just didn't have the energy to go today.

Congrats!  If your worried, it's good to at least get in and have your numbers checked.  Some dr's may do early ultrasounds, make sure your at least 6 weeks for an ultrasound (as you won't see much before then).

Good luck!
