Spotting brown discharge @ 7 weeks, please help me!!

Pregnant, 7 weeks and here are my details in point form, please tell me if you think this should be cause for concern:
- 7 weeks pregnant 4 months after miscarriage
- intermittent spotting/staining or discharge? for 1 week as of today
- spot/discharge is anywhere from light brown to very light pink (but mostly brownish), NEVER red
- texture varies from thin and watery, to kind of thick with clear "globs", to creamy
- no severe cramping (very mild and intermittent but I am told that's to be expected)

I don't have an appointment until next Wednesday (with a nurse practitioner), and seeing this discharge is scary for me as my husband and I want this baby very much. Is this kind of discharge normal for 7 weeks? How long should I expect it?

I had a miscarriage in January at 7 wk 1 d, it began with lower back pain (much like pre-AF) in the middle of the night. By 7am that morning, I went to the bathroom and there was redish pink blood when I wiped so we went to ER, and by the time I had arrived there I had cramps exactly like my period cramps, and the blood had gone from spotting red to lots of dark red blood (almost black looking), it looked like my period. It progressed from spotting to period-like within a couple of hours. All of that being said, I am not worried that I am having a miscarriage righ now as this is nothing like my previous experience. But I am worried of a threatened miscarriage, or am I just being paranoid and worrying too much? Is this brown discharge normal for 7 weeks pregnancy?

Update!!!

I went for an ultrasound at an outpatient clinic today, and although I am only 8 weeks (8 weeks and 2 days according to the technician!!) they let me see the screen....and I got to see my little baby bean!!! She also turned up the volume and I was able to hear it's little heart just beating so fast! That was the most amazing thing I've ever seen or heard in my entire life!

So I guess the brown discharge was nothing. I just wanted to update any readers of this post :o)

I had brown discharge for couple of weeks at around 7 weeks and it was just old blood.. I would say, call doc but no real reason for concern!

Yes, definitely need to call the doctor. Anytime you have bleeding in pregnancy, no matter how early on, it warrants a call to the doc.

first of all I would call and ask to come in TODAY!  do you mean next wed as in 6/24?  At 7 weeks they can tell what is going on and to make you wait is rediculous.  My doc is horrible and the one thing they will do is get you in as close to 7 weeks as possible if you are bleeding.  I had it with both of my boys beginning at 5 weeks and going until 9 weeks.  With the one that I am pregnant with now, I even had about 2 weeks of bright red bleeding.  I would try to get in there and see if there is a baby with a heatbeat and then you can feel a lot better.  this time, they were even able to tell me where the bleed was coming from.

First, congrats on your pregnancy! I am also pregnant after a miscarriage.

Have you called to tell the doctor you've been spotting for a week? That's the first step. They should have you come in sooner.
