washing baby clothes?

So, what are your opinions on washing baby clothes before they wear it? I'm 35 weeks and trying to prepare for my baby girl's arrival but my mom tells me not to wash her clothes because it's "new, but I'm such a germaphobe (not sure how that's spelled) and I think I should wash it, at least her 0-3 months. What are your thoughts on this ladies? Please help this first timer :) thanks!

I use double rinse on everything though cuz I like soft clothes but am allergic to softener lol my washing machine also has a handy 3 hr sanitization cycle I'll be using quite often it doesn't even require soap I use it for blankets now but I figure it will be great for soiled baby clothes :)

I'd wash them! I'm going to wait until atleast a month before the baby is due. My niece loves to drag out all the baby clothes and look at them everytime she comes over. Haha.

I've heard both, wash and don't wash. My mom washed for my sister (first born) and didn't wash diddly squat for me.
I however will be washing everything. If you think about it people put their hands on the clothes and the clothes end up on floor every once in awhile. Yeah, wash.

Just wash it, it'll make u more comfortable and it's better for the baby just think of all the hands that have touched that. Also it's not like it's a difficult task. :)

I prewashed everything. Anything I bought was thrown in. I received some used items and washed those. And was foreced some blankets from my grandmother and washed those at least three times because the smell wouldn't go away. I also just used regular tide, I didnt use the baby soap stuff. But everything is clean amd ready. Its up to you on what you wanna do though.

Yes you should. Reason being is because stores put pesticides on clothes so that no bugs get on them and you don't want that on your newborns skin. I wash every thing new, besides the car seat. The fabric on the car seat doesn't need to be washed since it's covered in plastic and put into a box.

I've washed everything I've bought for my baby except blankets, which I probably will end up washing! If it makes you feel more comfortable then do it, its your call!
