And yeah, maybe apply for daycare help as soon as the baby comes because there is usually an extremely long wait list! But I know places like the YMCA offer help paying for daycare. I'm only 19 and my boyfriend works overnights so it's hard for me to work because he needs at least a few decent hours of sleep so I'm just working casual shifts (meaning I can just pick up shifts when I want) at a nursing home as a CNA but was a stay at home mom for about 4 months!
What country do you live in? If you live in the U.S. They have to give you AT LEAST 6 weeks by law no matter how long you've worked for the company. It used to be a year that you had to work for the company but I do believe that law was just changed! Also, they can give you up to 12 weeks!
You can look into government funded child care centers such as Early Head Start, they are usually free or subsidized if you qualify
With my first i took the 12wk fmla. I work 7:30-4 my bf works 6:30-3 but i put my daughter in daycare. Im going to qualify for payment assistance once the second baby comes because i pay $900/month for just my daughter right now and its hard to afford
Normally here in my country, dubai, we are given 2 months off after delivery .. And when we get back to work we are allowed ti leave work 2 hours earlier for 4 months .. Good thing too, is that most workplaces including mine have nursuries .. But i prefer for the first couple of months to drop my baby at moms house while am at work :)
