Supporting all types of birth!

Just saw this great article today at one of my favorite websites The Unnecessarean:
http://www.theunnecesarean.com/blog/2011/3/22/i-support-natural-childbirth-and-im-planning-a-cesarean.html

It should remind us that there are many types and ways to give birth and to support one another, as women, for the choices we make. It's hard enough being a mom with all the judgment and unsolicited advice and women trying to one-up each other by comparing their births and their children. Put an end to it and tell a momma, "I support YOU!" even if it is not something you agree with. We all make our own choices and should be respected for them.

That's so true about women trying to "one up" each other about their births. I truly believe that as long as you and your baby are safe as well as healthy the method shouldn't matter. My mother (after her 2nd child) and two of my sisters all gave birth by C-section. So when I goot pregnant for the 1st time I was terrified because every one was telling me so many horror stories about the procedure. I was able to give birth vaginally and subsequently after as well. In the end though, I felt the same excitement when they gave birth as they did when I gave birth. One doesn't and shouldn't over shadow the other. Its all a means to an end and a beautiful ending at that!

Thank you! It's so nice to see a helpful article on csections! There is far too much guilt/ negativity on this emotive topic!
