Sweep

My Midwife has booked me in for a sweep on my due date, surely I should wait and see if she comes on her own before having a sweep?

I don't know if I should let her or if I should see if things start naturally

My midwife has me booked in for my sweep on my next appt when I'll be 40weeks.

Without putting u off lol, a sweep is where she inserts her fingers and rubs your cervix. Yeah its to help the labour start. Then if that doesn't work, u get induced at the hospital.

I'm a first time mam & that's what I've been told will happen with me.

I was also told they don't like u going over 42 weeks as it can lead to more problems

That's not what a sweep is. Its a way to naturally get things going without medicine
