TTC question

Hoping you ladies can give me some advice on this :  

My husband and I are ttc, we had sex August 15 and today August 20 I am ovulating.  I really want a girl this time and I have heard the closer to ovulation more chance of a boy. ide like to try today but Im not sure what the chances would be of a boy or girl on ovulation day.  Has anyone conceived on ovulation day and got a girl?? Just need some advice.  Thanks

Thanks ladies!  I have a 5 year old son and we want a girl, when I got pregnant with him I didnt keep up with my cycle at all so I dont know when during.ovulation I conceived him.  I guess I will just try and see what happens!  Has anyone been really sick and had a boy?  People are always saying when.your pregnant with a girl u stay sick.  Just curious.

is not based on ur ovalation dates at all just an old wives tales the guy determines the gender it has nothing at all to do w the womans body wht the sex will be but hey i guess u can say u have a 50/50 chance i hope u get ur wish good luck

Thanks for the advice.  I know its not 100% guaranteed if u have sex earlier u will get a girl but I just didnt know the chance lol.  Thanks :)

You should have sex for days before, during and after ovulation, some say every other day for about a week before during and after, some say every other day, just whatever you're comfortable with.. As for planning for a boy or girl, you really can't. I've heard if you have sex days before ovulation, it's more likely to conceive a girl, because they can last longer, whereas if you have sex on your ovulation date, you're more likely to conceive a boy because they're faster. It was true for me, but that's probably coincidence, I had sex 2 days before my ovulation, and I'm having a girl! Good luck!
