Epidural??

So I am only 29w+2d, but I am really worried about my choice of pain relief during labor. I am terrified of needles and especially so about ones going into my back. Any mommies out there who have had one?? Insight? :/

Oh my god I know exactly how you feel! I have a phobia with needles, no lie.I cried my eyes with the IV and they hadn't even put it in. the nurse walked in and said alright let's hook you up and I started crying while she was prepping lol my mom was laughing at me

But the epidural didn't hurt. I was a little afraid but trust me sweety all the pain from the baby will be so overwhelming that your not even gonna worry about the needle! All your gonna think about is getting the relief.
Like I was super worried about anybody seeing my vagina! But once she came out I was so relieved and focusing on like relaxing and easing the pain that I just had my legs wide open and out there while they stitched me haha

People love to tell horror stories. My med-free birth experience was incredible. It was hard, no question, and I was exhausted, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. It's about the mindset. If you go into it confident, knowing for sure you can do it and willing to kick out anyone who tells you otherwise... you can do it! My midwife was so supportive of my decision to go natural that when I hit a wall just before full dilation and asked for just a little something to take the edge off - she laughed at me and told me to get it together, it was time to push. If you surround yourself with people like that (and strongly consider a doula, they can be fantastic support and very knowledgeable) you'll have a much easier time of avoiding those unnecessary interventions that can cause scary complications.

With my first everyone told me how bad it would be. I was induced and still didn't thinkit was that bad. After 8 hours of med free labor it ended in a cs. My 2nd was vaginal and all natural, almost 9lb baby. Totally worth it. Its not as bad as people will tell you.

Yeah, I wanted to have my first child naturally... Then everyone started freaking me out, telling me how bad childbirth hurts. I mean I know that it isn't going to be no walk in the park, but they didn't really have to go into detail about all the pain. Worst thing to tell a first time mom.

You Dont even see it going it in and really it wasn't bad at all they give you a numbing shot first which kinda stings but the epidural needle you don't feel. I have had it for both my kids it didn't work the first time but the 2nd it worked fantastically.

If you can, go without pain relief! I did and it was the best choice I could've made!

I got the epidural at 8cm.
My contractions were so bad...i didn't even feel the epidural needle. Honestly,  it's so different when you're actually in the moment. It's really not bad at all.
Don't stress. Deal with it when the time comes. Best advice I can give.
