40 week appt

Not dilated at all.. Doctor won't sweep my membranes are induce me until 41 weeks.I am in tears, my body can't take this.... I'm tempted to take castor oil

I'm in the same boat, but dandelion is right...they can't sweep your membranes til you are dialated (found that out at my appointment today) and my hospital won't induce til your 41 weeks. So if I don't have my little girl by then they will induce me on Thanksgiving which is when I'm exactly 41 weeks. I've been on Google all night looking at home inductions trying to see what's all out there. I'm so ready to have her, and I'm not dialted or effaced at all :(

I did castor oil the other day and it didn't work for me and tasted nasty. BUT I have 4 friends who recently did it and went  I into labor. They were all mom's already too so I think that helped them? I didn't even get a stomachache

Wow! I'm so sorry your doctor is like that. I can't believe he/she is waiting another week to do anything. Maybe state laws? My hospital won't induce anyone before 41w unless it's medical but that's the only bad thing. I'm getting my baby next Wed since I was due yesterday

I see the castor oil is a debate... Walking does nothing for me, my partner lives in another state n we aren't getting alone to even have sex... I'll try squats... I want to get on a bike n ride

I will be 40weeks on Wednesday & I haven't dilated yet so I will be induced this week, if I was u I waill take the castor oil

Doctors can't sweep membranes unless you are dilated ateast to a 1. I would try walkin, sex , squats, dancing. I would try Castro oil. It mainly just gives u the runs.

That's kind of dumb that your doctor wont sweep your membranes since your now completely full term. I wouldn't give in to castle oil just because all it will do is give you the runs and possibly make you throw up.  Your almost at the finish line take time and enjoy the quiet because once the baby is here it wont be.
