Trying to concieve since a long time :(

Hello dr!
My husband and i are trying to conceive since a couple of months but no positive result... I miscarried 2mnths pregnancy last year ie 2010 in january. My friends suggest me to go for a follicular study as my husband keeps on travelling a lot and there is no continuity in our sexual life because of his busy work which is the main reason. What advice you suggest for me to get pregnant as soon as possible. As it is exactly 3 1/2 yrs for my marriage and i am really worried about my pregnancy. Kindly advice

Hi Ally!
The reason i m unable to track my exact day of ovulation is i dnt have a regular period cycle. Sometimes its 28days, sometims its 40 days and this time its 45 days but no period. I am getting period like cramps in my tummy. I had a brown spotting this morning.
As my cycle is irregular my dr, put on on contaceptive pills for 3mnths. Since then i was on 28days cycle, but since this mnth when i m not on medicine, its been 45th day of my cycle with cramps and no period. Plz advice.
Thnx God Bless

I started charting and it worked immediately. I bought the book "taking charge if your fertility" and it teaches you to pinpoint your fertile days by checking your cervical mucous, cervical position and taking your body temperature. My cycles are very long so I couldn't miss those fertile days as they came so infrequent. I believe it's all in the timing. Using this method combined with ovulation tests should get u preggers in no time. I buy opks on ebay. Soo much cheaper. Good luck

I think the deal is that even healthy couples on average take about 1 year to conceive, so if you're not conceiving then your dr may not see you. If you're conceiving then losing the pregnancy, that's different. But dr's won't do any serious tests on you until you've had 3 losses (you probably knew that). What you can do is chart your cycles and at least tell approximately when you're ovulating. You don't have to go all out and buy kits either- just keep track of your period, and your cervical mucous (like on your pantiliner). Google cervical mucous to read more about it- that's what I used to tell when I was ovulating. Before, during, and after ovulation, have sex every other day (every day is too frequent as sperm may be immature, I think the optimum is 2-3 days for sperm quality).

Maybe that will help you despite your husband's schedule.
