Two positives and then one negative in a row.........???

Hi there,

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Did a home pregnancy test when I got in from work and the plus sign came up straight away. I sent my boyfriend out to get (many) more tests!!! Next, did a digital test which said pregnant by 1-2 weeks. All the while I was drinking more and more water. Later on tonight, I then did another digital test and it said not pregnant??!!!! Has this happened to anyone else??

I'm so sorry you are going through this.  I totally know what you mean when you say you feel numb.  I still feel like that on and off.  Like mooboo35 said I hope the next one sticks.

Just to let you know, got to 5 and a half weeks but am so so sad to say, I am not pregnant anymore. Still bleeding but am ok. Just resting. Numb xxx

I did not have any cramps at all and my bleeding was not heavy at all.  I only had to wear a panty liner and changed it maybe every 3 hrs, not much at all.  I will hope that it'll happen for you, if not now, soon. :)

I just hadn't even heard of anything like this. You just take for granted that everything will be ok. Am so sorry for your loss and am praying that you get what you so deserve very soon so keep me posted. I know I'll test before the week is out......this feeling of limbo and dread is jut too much :( xxx

i am sorry for the worry you are going thru, but I was there too a couple of weeeks ago. I had 3 pos tests 4 days before period due. Day period due started to bleed did test 2 days later bfn!! Doctor also told me to wait for one week to retest but I am a peeonastick addict,  so it turns out I had a chemical pregnancy. I am hoping this month will be my month.  Good luck to you

Oh I am so thinking of you. I am so sorry for your loss. Is such a strange feeling to be trying to hold onto hope whilst also trying to be sensible and prepare ourselves for the worst. I am also trying to tell myself that it is good I got pregnant so quickly (came off the pill on 16th August) and that is surely a good sign isn't it? Just wish I knew one way or another. Nurse said last night to test again in a week but don't know if I'll be able to wait that long, even though I know that results could be misleading also. Midwife at the hospital has also given me a scan date of 1st November (all being well) as they wouldn't be able to find anything yet. The cramps are worrying me. Did you have the same? Low down period pain cramps? I am sending you much love and hope xxx

I completely understand, I had mine on Sept 21 so still very fresh in my mind.   My dr did tell me that I could try again right away and didn't have to wait for any cycles.  So I'm in the 2WW again, hoping that this one sticks.  I have had 3 other children that I conceived the first month or 2 of trying.  This one took me 3-4 months to just end up with a chemical.

Thank you. I have never been so scared in my entire life. Doctor just rang to say he is going to see if I can see someone at the hospital today, as cramping is now more painful and seem to be passing more blood. Thank you for being there xxx

I will pray for you.  It sounds like what just happened to me. A Chemical Pregnancy.  I had a positive test the day AF was supposed to be and then again 2 days later.  2 days after that I started spotting then bleeding and passing clots.  Wasn't painful at all down there, just painful for me to deal with.  I'm here if you need anything or just want to talk.  I will hope and pray that the outcome is better for you.

Just thought I'd keep you updated. Started to bleed at about half 6 last night. Was just light and brown to begin with and didn't last long. Woke up at about 2 this morning and was heavier and red and now very heavy and painful. Hospital said last night that all I can really do is 'ride it out' and retest in another week. I am basically being given 50/50 chance. If it is positive, they will give me an ultrasound and if negative, I have miscarried. Went to see doc first thing this morning and he had a feel around and was no tenderness. Blood pressure all normal. Said can't scan me as am technically not 6 weeks yet so would be difficult. Said to ring him back if bleeding gets heavier / have clots / am in lots of pain. To be honest, feels like period pain and have cramps, but not totally painful. Is so hard as we are both petrified / trying to remain positive / be realistic as so early on but it really goes to show......we were over the moon a few days ago but you never realise just how much you want something, until you are threatened with losing it. Please please could I ask you to pray for us. I will keep you posted xxxxxxx

Oh everyone, have just done another digital after having a night filled with nightmares of negatives..........and it's POSITIVE!!!!! Am just in tears!!! Thank you all so much for your support and reassurance! :) And...you are the first people I have told / will be able to tell!!! Will make a doctor's appointment today and will keep you posted xxxxx

Its cause you drank so much...
always test with first morning urine! a Pos is still a pos no matter how faint or strong the line, plus sign is! Congrats!

what they said, but a positive is a positive, it is extremely rare to get a false positive. I would say you are pregnant and you should go get a blood test to confirm!

What degriffdog said.  The first morning urine is the most concentrated and thus provides the most accurate results.
