Well with high risk pregnancies they often want to see the baby more to make sure everything is ok.
I've never heard of that unless you are high risk. Granted this is my first baby, but out of my 6 sisters only one of them had an ultrasound at every visit, but again she was high risk. I o ly get two. My dating ultra sound and anatomy ultrasound.
Oh wow u Should tell them it makes u uncomfortable and u will consider switching Doctors for that reason
I like the idea of taking someone with me I'm going to start doing that. I had one at 5wks, 7wks, 9wks, 10wks, 12wks,14wks, 16wks, 20wks, 22wks, 24wks, and 28wks. I am not considered high risk at all.
Tell Ur dr. Maybe if it's Ur dr saying to do them just mention that Ur going to run it by Ur insurance. I wouldn't like having too many if unnecessary. My last 2 pregnancies I was high risk 1st I had 2 in a month then I had to have one every month following the 1st 2. My 1st pregnancy I only had one ultra sound. My girlfriend who is high risk. She has preeclampsia, she is now 27wks and they just started seeing her for an ultra sound every 2wks.
For you it seems VERY overdone. You should refuse if you feel uncomfortable maybe have some1 go w U to Ur apt to help give U support. So it's easier to say NO. How often do U go to the dr? It's usually only once a month until the end of the pregnancy. Of course unless Ur high risk.
Tell them you don't want to and they can't make you! That is a lot of ultradounds. I've had 3 so far at 9wks, 20wks and 30wks. My Dr said from now on I will get one every 4 weeks to check on how my baby is growing. But my ultrasounds were only like 10mins.
No me and baby are fine I was sent 4 times to a specialist because they thought I had placenta previa but everything came back fine.
I have them every appointment only because that's the way he checks the heartbeat, no Doppler. He doesn't check measurements. It's only like 30 seconds long. And then he sees if he's breech or not etc. they have another room for ultrasounds where they do the big ones. Which the last big one is at 27 weeks
Most obgyns do it up to your 32 weeks check up, they have to, to make sure the baby weight, brains heart and other organs are developing at the right pace.
Is there a problem with the baby? That's a lot of ultrasounds. My only other guess is if you have private insurance they might be trying to scam more money out of them. Which is illegal but happens a lot unfortunately.
That many is definitely not necessary unless they consider you to be a "High risk" pregnancy.
I have tried to refuse the ultrasounds and they tell me it is necessary to check the baby is growing healthy. and that they need to do it as part of the appointment. this last time I pretended to feel like throwing up in order to not have an ultrasound done and it worked, but i feel like if i keep saying I need to throw up they will catch on. This is frustrating.
Ultrasounds do emit of radiation and they are probably doing to just to get more money. Lots of doctors are doing more and more Ultrasounds on healthy babies to get more money from insurances.
Wow I've never heard of that many ultrasounds. All the ones I did have I'd ask tons of questions n she was always answering them. Is ask the weight, measurements, what's this what's that, if everything looked okay
Wow that's too many I've only had two ultrasounds my whole pregnancy and that's all I'm getting I wish for at least one more but my doctor told me there's no need but 11 damn that's a little too much ! I would just refuse while I'm there and tell them they can't make me
Tell them you don't feel it's necessary to see your baby at every visit?
