Am I Pregnant?

Okay,  so I am 18 and a little worried.
I had unprotected sex a little over 3 weeks ago, a week later I had spotting.. and another week passes and  I am supposed to get my period today. Usually my breasts hurt a week before I get my period, but nothing yet.  I had some more spotting today but nothing close to a period.  I took a pregnancy test about 3 days before I was supposed to get my period, but the results were negative.  I don't really know what to think, I'm not getting too worried about it yet, but I can't stop thinking about the possibility that I am... any advice? Is it normal to have spotting like this??

Well to be honest I'm really not all that stressed out about it right now.  Probably cause I work full time, work out an hour everyday and spend time with friends and my boyfriend.  But when I do have time to stop and think its definately in the back of my mind.  Sometimes I have the feeling that I am just pregnant.  I've had scares before and I know that I let it get into my head the other times which stressed me out, but this time seems to be different..I feel rather relaxed.  Although I have been quite tired, and irritable lately! My boy friend oviously doesn't know anything about it... but theres kinda a long story behind everything ... but I'm not going to go there...
Thank you so much for all the advice! and when would be the best time to be taking a pregnancy test?

I got pregnant when I was 19, unplanned. Things work out, even if it isn't exactly what you planned on. My little girl is now 4 year old and she is my spitting image. I don't have pictures posted on here for privacy reasons but she's absolutely gorgeous and such a joy in my life.

The spotting could've been implantation spotting, when the embryo burrows into the uterine lining. Not every woman experiences that (I believe the percentage of women who do is about 20%).

In early pregnancy I really didn't have noticeable symptoms (no nausea, no vomiting). Instead I felt bloated, moody/weepy and really fatigued. I also had mild cramps that felt pre-menstrual. So as you can see, they are the exact same PMS symptoms.

But yeah, first take the test and go from there. Don't get ahead of yourself and stress yourself out! ;-)

I agree with JoyRenee...a lot of women on here, including the two of us, have been pregnant before. I never had spotting with my son, but it sounds to me like your first spotting could have been implantation bleeding...first bit of advice though, stop thinking about it. If you're stressing you could be causing your period to be late. If your period was due today, you should be able to get an accurate result, depending on the test you use. I agree also with JoyRenee that you should use First Response. Try taking a test again if you don't get your period within the next few days, and if it's still negative and you still don't get your period I'd set up an appointment with your gynecologist, there could be another reason for the spotting and no period.

Well I'm really hoping not! Im supposed to be going to college and abortion is out of the question, but I guess I'm getting ahead of myself.
I'm kinda hoping to hear what other people have to say who have been pregnant, and what the first few weeks were like for them to see if its anything like what I have been experiencing...I just find it odd and coinsidental since I've never had spotting before, and my period is usually either early or on time.

Well you definitely sound like you could be. I would re-test with First Response. Please let us know the result! And good luck!
