okay so i recently experienced a heart breakn miscarriage, and ive deffinitly learned my lesson and am waiting till mr right comes around and untill ino hes the one. But i wanna how easy it is to concieve after takn the depo shot, in which i plan on gettn bc i dnt want a kid with juss ne one. I have heard many times that after gettn off b/c it becomes very easy bc of the hormones and that its even easier after gettn off the 3mnth depo shot. Is it? who has experiencd this?

Condoms are always available, or spermicide foams, etc. The pill is probably your safest route. Like I said, my cousin was on it for a long time, got off it and was pregnant the next month. Ammanda is right about mirena.... that's a good idea!!

And the the depo shot makes you gain weight. I gained 15 lbs when I was on the depo... and hahaha yes Oral sex works alot easier lol..  But maybe if you have insurance you should look into that new b/c called Mirana, it prevents pregnancy for 5 years or until your ready.  All you gotta do is get it taken out when you want if its before the 5 years.  I have never found a form of birth control that I liked.  But after my baby, Im going to try the mirana cause I dont want anymore kids.  Both my sisters have it and they like it.

Hey bayybii, let me start off my saying, i hope there was no hard feelings about your last post, I was really just trying to help.. but anyway I was on the depo shot for about 2 years, and when I got off it it took me over 4years to get pregnant...Same thing for a friend of mine.  Depo shot is the hardest to get pregnant off from right away.  and statistics say being one it for more then 5 years at once can pretty much ruin your chances of ever conceiving, so be careful.  And if you do try it then id say go off it about a year or so prior to when you plan on starting TTC.  And dont stay on it for more then 5 years.

this is just me... and it doesn't mean this is how it will be for everyone. I got off depo, switched to the pill, and decided to get off b/c completely. It took 5 years before I got pregnant. My cousin was the same way... she took 5 years to conceive. My other cousin however was on the pill, she got off her b/c for only about a month and ended up getting pregnant... guess it just depends on how your body reacts to the hormones. I was with my ex-boyfriend for 5 years... then we broke up. When I met the man I would marry, I got pregnant right away, so maybe my ex-boyfriend was the problem... maybe he was sterile or something? Maybe it had nothing to do with the b/c at all???

Me personally am not a fan of the depo shot, I have heard it stays in your body longer and there are more risks associated with it. That's just me though! Good luck to you. Birth control of some kind is crucial if you are not in a serious committed relationship with someone you truly care about... so be on the safe side, and get on b/c. When the time is right for you to get pregnant after you decide to get off, it will happen!

It's just like any other birth control with hormones.  My bestfriend was on birth control pills for 10 years and once she came off she got pregnant right away, but I know people who take a long time after they stop the pill to.  It all depends on your body.  I had been off the pill for years and still when I tried to conceive I got pregnant after a year and a half of trying.  There are no guarantees with anything.

It's very common that people have a hard time getting pregnant after being on Depo.  Also being on depo for 6 months or more can cause a decrease in bone density.  Personally I loved the ease of not having to take pills everyday, but once I found out about the other risks I decided it wasn't for me.  I am pregnant now, but have been off depo for many years now.  I would ask your doctor to help you pick a birth control.
