Post Partum C-section questions

Just two questions that I am curious about in regards to things after having a c-section.
I had a c-section on February 3, and am wondering when I can use tampons (instead of pads). Dont know if its different being that you probably need more time to go back to normal in that region via vaginal delivery.
Also, how long until you can have sex after a c-section?

Any help from moms that have arleady had a c-section would be wonderful!

the reason they say no sex for 6 weeks isn't due to bleeding or pain- it's because of risk of infection. Same reason why you can't use a tampon or even go swimming for 6 weeks. I think many people go ahead and do these things too soon not understanding why the doctors make the recommendations that they do. Although, i would think that with a fresh incision, people with c-sections would definitely wait. It wasn't a simple incision- they cut through your skin, your abdominal muscles, and your uterine wall.

I had sex like 3 1/2 weeks afterwards. I didn't bleed and it wasn't painful.

THanks for the response! I never did lose my plug before being induced so it would be really weird if I lost it now.....hmm.....

I just know it must be so hard on my husband not getting anything from me....sex wise....and to make him wait that long I think would be awful!

Looking forward to my 6 week appointment to be cleared!

I had a C/S with my baby boy Tyler (TJ)

Tampons can be used after 6 to 8 weeks. Because my dr's told me NO tampons. ALSO~ my plug came out 6 weeks AFTER my csection. it was so odd.

Sex~ Well... they say 6-8 weeks, however. I made it 9 days! lol. We were VERY, VERY careful and took it slow and easy and it worked out fine except for a bit of soreness later.  I'd say wait til your comfortable because honestly alot of women DONT stick to the guidelines.
If you breast feed it'll control bleeding. (I had none when I had sex that first time.)
