Varicose vein?! :(:(

I'm 21 weeks pregnant, and over the past few weeks have noticed one vein in my right leg getting darker and darker, now it's traveling the length of my right leg (just one vein) and its getting purplish. Is it normal to get just one varicose vein? And should I worry about anything associated with it?? I'm more worried about it causing a clot, or anything like that. And will it go away after birth? I never had it with my son so I'm a little sad, haha!! I plan on calling my doctor Monday just to make sure it's normal.

Itchy is normal! That happens often with varicose veins.

Yeah, no pain, it does feel a little itchy, though, so I'm going to call him on monday and see if he thinks I should do an U/S to make sure, thank you!

You can get clots. I thought i had one and they did a ultrasound on my leg. The symptoms of a clot however are hot to touch spot on leg, the leg would be noticeably more swollen than the other, and there would be pain in the leg. However, varicose veins can hurt too. I wouldn't worry just have your Dr. look at it. If your leg gets really swollen or starts to have pain call your Dr.

I hope so, it doesn't cause any issues with clots or anything? I only have one!, like in one vein, I thought it would be multiple veins... stupid thing!

me too, and I still have them. I didn't with my first either, must have to do with second time around. I think they go away or at least fade after the baby comes though.
