bleeding at 38+6

At the hospital after some bleeding this morning. Its stopped now but i still have a lot of cramping. They hooked me up and everything looks fine, sent me for an ultrasound and again, everything looks fine. Just waiting for the nurse to call my doc for further instructions. Shouldn't take long but we've been waiting now for an hour. Is a lot of cramping normal at this point?

So they sent me home, doc just said to take the next few days off. And my mom and mil both said the cramping is braxton hicks but they are happening quite frequently. I thought that meant i would have to time them...?
