Wanting to be induced.

I have a dr app on Thursday and I'm going to ask to be induced because on Saturday I'll be 39 weeks and my mom will be off for 3 days straight and she will be able to watch my 3 year old.. Otherwise I have nobody to keep her and she would have to stay with me, also my SO won't have his son this weekend, and I don't want to be in the hospital on Easter when I'm 40 weeks.. I was induced with my 3 year old and everything went good and smooth.! Does anyone know if you have to be dilated or effaced a certain amount?

I'm 39+1 and at my appt today I was only 1 1/2cm dilated and my doctor set  a date next week to induce me on the 3rd which ill be 40+4 then. She said she would induce me before then but they are packed with inductions right now and that was the next available date they had. But anyways I'm sure if you ask her she will help u out, but they will prob go with what the hospital has open, all u have to do is ask but if I were u I'd ask soon so u can try to get something set up for the dates u wanted .

I will be 39 weeks Sunday and my ob will not induce me till next week on Wednesday because they say they try to avoid inducing on weekend. But usually you have to be at least 2cm dialted is what I've always been told, but that's also another reason I have to wait till then is because I am not dialate. So maybe your Dr is different. Hopefully you can get induced Saturday :),
